Arrival Story:
She was given to my husband as a companion to a cat his first wife had. When my husband and I started dating we found out the cat had been abused and or neglected and that's how she found her way to his aunts house. When my husband was getting divorced he told his ex he wanted Ophelia. When we moved in together with step brother Buddha, and the rabbit, Ophelia didn't want to be touched or handled and was a mess of matts. I took her to a groomer that the vet suggested and even though she didn't like to be handled and I was told the cat should be sedated... I held her and pet her and an hour and a half later she had the lion cut. No worse for wear for both of us, five years later, she is a big ole lap cat that likes to sleep on my side of the bed and sit on our laps.

Buddy.....not so much sometimes.

My mommy got a dog a few weeks ago. His name is Buddy Pugsingarden. He's okay. He chases me sometimes. I don't really like it and mommy is there to put a stop to it most times.

She and daddy decided that because their daughter is so young it would be a good idea to get another family member. Not a replacement for my brother but something so that a 3 year old doesn't get so sad, especially around the holiday's. Her 3rd birthday is soon so it seemed like a good thing.

Mommy knew what was going to happen to my brother. She saw it in his eyes. She felt bad but didn't want her 2 legged child to suffer the loss so close to Christmas. She said that children remember traumatic experiences and this would be traumatic. So she got buddy from daddy's cousin to make it a little better for her daughter. He didn't have anywhere to go. Their son was allergic and they couldn't keep him anymore. So mommy took him in.

So far buddy is okay. Mommy keeps him in his crate when they go out. That's a good thing. But his nice most of the time except when I try to eat his food. He growled and tried to bite me. Mommy got upset at that one and made sure I was okay and then made sure I got food of my own. I've never been around dogs so it was a learning experience for me.

Well I'm going to curl up now so..... g'night.

As you probably know by now, my brother died the other day. He told me he was in pain and I comfort him on his last night. I like my space but I loved my brother so we, for the first time ever, curled up on the couch and purred and slept.

This morning my mommy asked for a sign that Buddha was okay. He told me that mommy needed to feel better this first morning so he told me to go sleep with her. She knew it wasn't him, but knew he said something to me. I was always the smart one in the family. He said he loved the fact that soooo many kitties were there to welcome him and he sure loved his bacon and eggs and chicken. He said it wasn't as good as mommy makes and I told him "no chicken is as good as mommy makes".

A little about me..... I was taken in by my daddy's aunt. I was so scared of people. They used to hit me and not feed me. Then I got to his house. The only problem was there was always yelling. When I got this mommy, she would hold me and then give me treats. I really liked her from the beginning. Then she took me to a man who cut off all of the mats in my hair. That felt soooo good. And now I like to sit in her lap.

I will write more later....g'night.
