Thought you’d like to hear an update on how Princess is doing : ) She’s doing great now, she’s made a lot of progress over the last few days….we had a little hiccup at first because she was so scared that she wouldn’t eat or drink anything for the first 48 hrs we had her, so we were getting worried she was getting dehydrated so we took her to the vet. They checked her out and said everything looked fine and that she was probably just too anxious to eat, so they gave her a shot of fluids and a pill to stimulate her appetite. It worked! Right when we got home she scarfed down her food and has been eating/drinking normally ever since. She loves when we pet her…she purrs like crazy and rolls around. She isn’t coming over to us yet…we have to go to her, but I’m sure it will come with time. Right now we just have her in a sectioned off part of the house so that she doesn’t feel too overwhelmed….She cried a lot the first few nights, but last night she only cried for a second or two and so we didn’t have to wake up and hang out with her in the middle of the night…so that was a big improvement.
So she’s making progress and she is soooooo adorable and soft and we already love her soooo much!!!! We’ll keep you posted as to her progress….
Oh yes! I forgot to mention that….we actually ended up naming her Sookie…which we stole from you guys…thank you!!!! We love True Blood too and we thought that it is such a cute cat name!!!
We figured she had never been away from the other kittens…that must make it an even more difficult adjustment for her because she’s used to having the “back-up” of the other kittens around….She purrs like crazy for us and lets us rub her all over…she loves it, she just gets a little skittish when we move too quick and she doesn’t like being totally out in the open in the room. But she’s doing great and we know that is all pretty normal stuff for kittens in a new setting….
We are actually going to purchase a hard carrier this weekend because I’m sure we’ll need to use it going forward for vet trips, etc…..
