Salad Sally

Do you guys eat salads? Mom was making a salad and I was begging for food, even tho I've had my supper already. Mom tossed me a lettuce leaf. She didn't think I would eat it but to her surprise I ate it all. It was very good and fresh. The best part is the lettuce was organic. Mmmh yummy. I want to encourage Mom to try more different foods with me. Who knows what all I might like. It doesn't always have to be meat. I know a cat who eats Yams. Maybe I'll try them next.

Hugs,
Your Gourmet Sally

OMC, I slept right through it!

My catness, I was a diary pick yesterday and I didn't even notice. Thank you to all my friends for the gifts and well wishes. Thank you also to the wonderful Diary Girl for picking me. I feel so honored.

Some of you know that Mom doesn't check my account regularly (bad Mom). I have a brofur and a sisfur but Mom is only allowed to have two cats. Townhouse Association rules stink. So I'm just the guest cat. Mom mostly lets sis and bro play on Catster. I apologize for not getting right back to you and for missing stuff. IT'S MOM'S FAULT.

I slept a lot yesterday because it was so cold here (about 18 degree). We were waiting for a snow storm. The snow came today. It was snowing all day long. Not much but it adds up. I need to run now and tell Mom that I was a Diary pick. She owes me lots of treats and cuddles and Me-and-Mommy time.

Purr to you soon.
Your Sally

Happy Mew Year

Happy Mew Year 2011.
Did you get into the Mew Year O.K.? Did you celebrate? Me, I tried to stay awake 'til Midnight but see what happened in my second picture. I asked Mom if next year Mew Year could be earlier please. Midnight is way past my bedtime. I tried, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open.
Our Mew Year was like this:
Brofur was snoozing in front of the lit fireplace.
Sisfur was snoozing on Mom's lap.
I was snoozing in my cat bed.
Mom was watching TV and drinking a glass of wine.
Mom did wake us all up at Midnight and said 'Happy Mew Year' and gave us all kisses.

Purrs,
sleepy Sally

Friends, I pondered long and hard and here they are. My Mew Year's Resolutions:

• run faster
• jump higher
• play harder
• meow louder
• jump on the kitchen counter (I haven’t been able to do it yet, maybe I will master it in the mew year)
• eat slower – woops, noooo, I think Mom smuggled that one in here
• smile more
• purr more
• knead more
• nap in the sun more
• run zoomies more (I have just started to enjoy this wonderful activity, my sisfur is a master zoomies runner)
• give Mom more headbonks
• enjoy life more
• blink my eyes ‘I love you’ at Mom more

HAPPY AND HEALTHY MEW YEAR TO ALL. May it be your best year yet.

Oh, I can hardly contain my excitement. I won a purrize! I won an acorn at the pole challenge quizz game that da Tabbies o Trout Towne had. OMC, I have never wonnet anything in my whole life. What a purrfect day after birthday purresent. Thank you Tabbies. *big group hug* If you don't know da Trout Towne Tabbies yet, you should stop by their place sometime. I'm frequently ROFL when I read their posts and the pics they have on their page now, MOL, soooo funny, purrfect for the upcoming Turkey season.
DA TABBIES O TROUT TOWNE

Now I would like to thank a few more of my dear friends who brought over more presents for my birthday.

I got a Diamond from Zeeke and his family. I am proudly wearing it today. Thank you so much. I love sparkley things.

Teebo, Callie and Rose came over to toast with some nip-Champagne. Mmmmh, very good. Many thanks.

Elise and Family pinned a lovely rosette on my fur. I love how I look all decorated now. Thank you furry much.

I really appreciate all your thoughtful gifts and comments dear friends. That's what it's all about. Family and good friends. I do feel much better today and don't sneeze much any more. Now I wonder what Mom will give me for my birthday....

Going to soak up a little more heat from the fireplace.
Love,
Sally

It's my birthday

Wow, it's my birthday already? I can't be six years old. Not possible. What did I get for my birthday? I got a aaachooo, excuse me. I got a cold. I've been sneezing today. Not a good present. I wonder who gave that to me? I think it was my sisfur. She doesn't like me very much. Mom says she tolerates me. Sometimes she sniffs me or she walks right by me without saying anything. But once in a while she'll hiss and swipe at me. Sisfur says it's just so I know that she is the top cat. I let her believe that, MOL.

Thank you soooo very much for all the gifts for my birthday. Mom didn't give me anything yet. She says she doesn't want to go to PetShmart just for me. Maybe this weekend. Well, Mom gave me one gift. She turned on the fireplace. I feel better already. I think that cold will leave me in a hurry.

Samoa - you are not supposed to waste your shiny new zealies on me (or any other fur in my family). Thank you for the rosette and the heart.
Tate - thank you for the cuppycake. I love to eat, so that is the perfect present for me.
Dear Tabbies of Trout Town - love your rosette. A girl can never have too many accessories. Thank you.
Tony, Anna, Greystone and Family - thank you for the pretty rosette. I love jewelry.
Down Under Gang - Wow, a big cake and a heart. Thank you. I'm gonna have a slice right now.

Thank you, dear friends, for making my birthday extra special. Love you all. I'll go back and lay in front of the fireplace now. Big hugs,
Sally

Tax Holiday

Yesterday was a tax holiday in Iowa. Mom says you could buy stuff and didn't have to pay taxes. I asked if she bought me a snack. No, says Mom, tax free were only things you can wear. I think it's not fair. I can wear snacks.

Mom went shopping for a bunch of furs for herself. Underfur and socks. I wear underfur too. I don't like socks. I know some cats wear them all the time but not me. I wear one beige glove Michael Jackson style. She bought some boots but I don't like boots either. I had a pair of very stylish Ugg boots last year when I was sick but I'm not planning on wearing them ever again. Let's see, what else did Mom get? Oh yeah, Jeans fur. And some top furs for her body.

Mom was exhausted when she got back from the stores and she needed a nap. I have it much better. I always wear the same thing and it never goes out of style.

Good night everyfur.
Stylish Sally

And the dentist said....

What are YOU doing here?. Your appointment is not until next week.

Boy, did Mom feel silly. She had written down the wrong date on her calendar. I think she is getting old and forgetfull.

I have been trying out new places to nap. I've tried two of our four dining room chairs. And I tried the back of the recliner. I saw my brofur laying on the back of the couch, so that gave me the idea with the recliner back. AND I slept on the chair where usually ONLY my brofur and my sisfur sleep. Sisfur naped on the couch where I usually sleep. Well, not directly on the couch but on Mom, who was laying on the couch. Sisfur said she doesn't want to sleep right on the couch because it stinks like me. I told her: EXCUUUUUSE ME, I don't stink. I smell sweet like roses.

Good night,
sweet Sally

The Dentist

Mom said she needs to go to the dentist Monday. I wonder if she will use my dentist. I don't know if I should recommend my dentist to her or not. They seem to be real nice but the customer service could be better. They didn't offer me anything to eat all day long and they shaved my paw without asking for purrmission. I hope Mom's teeth are in as good shape as mine.

Smiling a sparkley-white smile,
Sally

Domestic Medium Hair

Ooooh. On the catster home page they always celebrate a different breed. And today it's the Domestic Medium Hair. That's me! Yay, we are celebrating ME. Mom had this clicked wrong in my profile, she had American Short Hair. MOTHER! She just changed it. Silly Mom. My best feature is my thick, double coat, which requires weekly brushing. See, I am wearing two coats. Fun. And we come in every color and pattern. More fun.

To all my fellow Domestic Medium Hairs: Congratulations and let's celebrate!
