Arrival Story: A new coworker approached me and told me someone had given her a CH baby. She showed me a photo and I was smitten! 2 days later, to further drive the nail into the coffin, she brought this baby into work to be spayed. I literally sat in the hallway and held her for over 30 mins, as she purred the whole time! I was in love immediately.
Bio: She would be considered 'moderately afflicted' regarding the Cerebellar Hypoplasia. So far, she walks using goose steps and falls over occasionally. Her head shakes almost constantly and she 'pecks' at food, water, treats before determining spatial distance. She likes clmbing and wrestling with big brother, Jake.
ME-OW! I've been chosen as one of the finalists for the Bad Cat Calendar contest! You know, it would be SO COOL to win, especially because Mommy LOVES Bad Cat! BUT, truth be told, it is totally PAWSOME to be included as a finalist! Mom says that sometimes the reward is in the work. You know, I think that human might have something there....
Okay, I have to admit that I am a MESS when it comes to food in the house. I cry the entire time my family is having dinner, if someone opens the fridge, I am right there (in fact, they have to physically remove me so they can shut the door), if anyone has a snack somewhere I am on their lap like white on rice.
Well, this morning, early, Mommy had a couple ounces of cottage cheese. She was nice enough to give Orla, Flurry and me tiny, tiny tastes. It was 'eh' as far as I was concerned. A few hours later, Mom is sitting at the computer, with a big cuppa tea and a plate with a whole grain english muffin and lite butter. I jumped on her lap and was laying there nicely. She picked up the muffin and it was travelling to her mouth when I intercepted it, reaching for the far right side with my right paw! I hooked my nails into it and lightening fast, had my mouth on the lovely, warm, buttery muffin! I took a bite and at the same time, managed to rip a good size chunk off, as Mommy said "HEY!" I acted like I didn;t even know she was there! I just munched away on this brekkie delight that was chewy and crunchy and DELISH!
I ate it all really quickly, then cleaned myself like I hadn't had anything to eat.
Thanks, Mom for not scolding me or kicking me off your lap!
Well, kitties, I had 3 bouts of loose poopies from night into morning, so Mommy scooped some up and took it to work for testing. She also took me, just in case I needed fluids.
Well, as it turns out, I have giardia and apparently so does my doggie sis, Matilda because she EATS my poop! EWWWW!
Anyway,my siblings are also now on meds for 5 days. Mom says the only saving grace is that some of the kitties don't come down to the first floor and since I only stay on the first floor , using only the litterbox in the laundry room, that saves Mom from having to give Ava medicine. Mom says that she has to shoot Ava with a blow dart in order to administer any type of medication. Mom says Ava was 'feral" and we are lucky she even lets Mom pick her up (NOT hold her) and pet her at all. Ava still won't be in the same room with Daddy. Her eyes get HUGE and she freaks out.
So now I am in good company with everykitty getting that ICKY stuff squirted down their throats. Doc says its usually the 'last one in" that brings giardia. Yep. That would be me.
Anyways...I don;t have the runnies anymore and that is a very good thing (thank you, Martha Stewart!)
