Arrival Story:
As a volunteer at the PSPCA, I work at events on the mobile adoption unit. One night when we took the RV to a PetSmart event, I met Jack (then named Star Dust). I fell in love with him! The following day, I did another event at the Whole Foods near my house. My boss Rita brought Jack with her again, and I had a hard time saying bye to him that afternoon.
That same afternoon, I left for the shore for a week. I asked Rita to keep an eye on him and keep me updated- afterall, he was in public adoptions, so he could have been adopted any day. That Wednesday, Rita called me with some news. A cat in Jack's adoption room was sick, so he had to be taken out and put in RC to be tested! As she said, it was almost kismet that I got him. On Friday she put a 24 hour hold on him, and the following day, I came back from the shore and went straight to the shelter.
Jack came home with me on August 8th, 2009.
Bio:
Jack was a neglect case that was rescued by the amazing Animal Police Officers at the Pennsylvania SPCA on Erie Avenue. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do! Without you, I wouldn't have my little Jack Bear with me today.
Jack has a brother, named Champ. Champ is a Bichon Frise/Poodle mix, who was born April 11th, 2001.
