indoors Arrival Story: We fostered 6 kittens total during the summer, and Oscar kept coming back because he was so scared during adoption days that few people wanted to take him out of his cage, though he loved and rubbed on those who did. To make a long story short, we finally adopted him and his sister Zoe, who sadly developed FIP and passed away. Oscar was kind of wild and growled at everything when he started being fostered, so he was nicknamed after Oscar the Grouch. He soon lost his fear and became very friendly, but the name stuck, it just seems to fit even though he's far from grouchy now. Bio: Oscar is very vocal and louder than our 3 adult cats combined. He's super affectionate and very demanding of Mom's attention. These things, and his long lanky body and face, make us think he has some Siamese in him in spite of his coloring. He sure sounds like one, and in many ways reminds us of Daemon, who was black and part Siamese. Oscar and Fiona are BFF, they chase and wrestle each other, and she washes him. Since we haven't been on Catster in ages, Khaki posted about all the big stuff going on at our house lately.
I'm still zooming, whining, and using my smacky paw to demand food, attention, and basically get my way whenever I can. Mommy has called me noisy, demanding, bratty, and some other words I'm not allowed to repeat, MOL! On the other paw, she also calls me "Mommy's Baby Boy", I guess that's good.
Mommy hung Christmas toys on our cat tree this year, it was a great surprise! We all played with them and tore them down, but I hogged them somewhat, so I got my picture up there playing with the new toys.
A few months ago I had a really bad time with my stomatitis, and lost some weight. I even stopped eating treats because my mouth hurt too much. The vet put me on a new treatment so now I get an antibiotic shot every other month instead of my usual shot. It's really helping, I'm putting weight back on and eating treats again.
I'm purring excitedly and head-butting all of you, I'm so excited to be back on Catster for a quick update! I miss you all and hope you're having a great summer.
I'm trying furry hard to take over as Head of Household here, but King Robie keeps going on about supreme executive power, birthright, and his not being dead yet. He misunderstands me! I don't want to be King of Cats, I want to be Head of Household, period. That includes the humans.
Has it really been that long since I zoomed by to write in my diary? Mommy has been so busy with her new job that we don't see much of Catster these days.
But I want to thank you for remembering my 2nd birthday anyway! Can you believe my hoomans scheduled their vacation so that they LEFT on my Birthday?! The nerve! They said we would get a special treat when they get back. They are back now, and I'm showing them what Terrible Two means! Mommy chased me around while they were unloading the car, because I was using my smacky paw on everybody! Terrible Two means I feel like being Alpha Cat today, step aside Robie! It also means I slept on the hoomans pillows while they were gone, but mostly I missed Mommy so I kept her awake their first night home. I have a lot of purring, cuddling, and whining to catch up on!
