Okay, so here are da 5 things I am thankful for:

...and last but not least, yet most importantly of all...
5. My hooman family. They took me in when no one else wanted me. They loved me when no one else would. They took care of me when I needed care the most (& the countless hours Mommy spent doctoring my eye to help it & me get better). They gave me my furever home!
I love my Mommy, Daddy & hooman brother!

This Veteran`s Day...

Vet Update...

well, Mommy been a bit busy, but is taking time to help me put this in my diary.
My recent vet visit was on October 13th, and it went well!
here are a few things to highlight it:
remember how my eye was so badly swollen & hideous, that mommy couldn`t post any decent pix of me? Well, about a week before my vet appointment, the "scab" that had formed on the outside of my cornea, had fallen off. She feared it would get infected but it didn`t.
When the vet saw me, he was amazed about how my face actually looked "normal" again! Then came the 20 questions:
Does she eat good? Does she paly? blah blah blah, mol.
Mommy told him that I give Uncle Freddie & uncle Spitty a run fur their money (er, CATNIP), MOL!
I am still in no pain, & he told mom there is NO need to remove my "blind eye" at this point, unless it starts to cause me pain & discofort, which it doesn`t, hehehe!
he checked my teeth, and guess what? THEY are my ADULT teeth! Which means I am probably a bit older than I look, just "runty" in size due to my previous life before Mommy got me. i still weigh a mere 4.4 pounds, hehehee! BUT I make up fur my size with my energy, MOL!
I am NOT due fur another vet visit fur another year, as I also got my final series of baby shots, mol. Although Mom & dad are checking in to getting me fixed, which I see no need for them to do, as I feel i am not broken, hehehehe!

DoD!!!

OMWhiskers! MOL! It was just last week that I made Diary Pick, now today I got DOD! WOZA!!! MOL! I am speechless to win two honors in less than a week, and so very blessed to have a loving, caring family & furriends!
I thank Catster & all of you furr makin it possible! Fur givin me (and Mommy) all the love & support through our trying time right now.
I wanna thank everyone whom sent prezzies, comments, pmails, invites & well-wishes for my DOD day, mol...
Mommy found out when she checked her email this morning, but she was running late fur work, so when she saw the ConCATSulations from Spunky (of One-Eyed Pets are One-derful, she thought it was unread from last week, MOL> ! silly Mommy!!
Then she looked at the rest of her email, all addressed to me, (she didnt have time to read any of it).. and she couldn`t figure out WHY it was all addressed to ME!! MOL...!!! MOL!!! Then she read the one the from Catster telling her I was DOD, MOL!!!!!!!!!!
Now, mommy is home and I am having her PURRSonally answer all my pmail, mol...

My First Boyfurriend!...

His name is Cheese, and he`s off on a search fur treasure! ARRRR Matey!!!
Mommy is busy today, but she let me on the puter long enuff to pmail Cheesy, *giggles*...
hopefully I can talk wiff him later!..

Update on My Condition...

As most of my furriends know, my right eye has gotten MUCH worse this past week. It actually is bulging from my widdle head to an extent. It is swollen, red That is the main reason Mommy hasn`t posted any new "close-up" shots of me lately.
Mommy was able to get me into the vet today, despite the fact I had an appointment coming up on the 22nd of this month. She was so worried about me and my eye. She cried off & on almost all morning before she went to work. But before she left, i managed to CLIMB her leg (hehehheeee) and I sat in her lap & purred and purred and purred! as if to tell her it was going to be alright.
There are a few very close furiends mommy has made on Catster, (whom along wiff me and my purring (PURR-culator) this morning, mol), made Mommy smile & laugh! She was actually able to enjoy my making DDP! To those special furiends, You Are Priceless & We Love You All! Thank You!

Anyhow, back to what the vet said:
" It is an irrepairable "blind eye". The damaged cornea has collapsed to cause further redness, discharge & bulging, making the eye seem grotesque (for some) to look at. So far Katrina seems to be in no pain, as Katrina is eating, drinking, purring & playing normally. When I touched around the delicate swollen eye, she didn`t cry nor flinch.
There is no need for removal of the "blind eye" at this time, nor is there cause for euthanasia. However, if Katrina`s eye seems to start causing her pain ("painful blind eye"), or she starts wailing & stops eating, etc., please contact me ASAP , and I will do whatever I can in my power to help her (by removing the "painful blind eye"). Euthanasia will be the LAST resort."

Tears welled in Mommy`s eyes as the word euthanasia kept echoing through her mind. Dr. O`Neill gave her a tissue. I started purring as the vet gave me my second series of shots. I weigh 4 pounds!!! I have doubled my weight already!!!! "I`m going too be okay, Mommy!", I seemed to purr to her.
Mommy smiled and held me close to her, mol. I purred even louder and faster, MOLMOLMOL!!!!
A special Thank You to Angel Trucker, *giggles*. He is Spitty`s bestest furriend! he was there to help give me & Mommy support!
I go back to the vet in 3 weeks for my 3rd series of shots! WoW! I bet I`ll weigh 6 pounds! MOL Maybe MORE! MOL!

I Made DDP!

I made DDP today!!!! OMWHISKERS! mol.
I am so honored! Thank you Catster & all my furriends!
Mommy has to call da vet today to see if she can get me in sooner than next Tuesday. ya see, my right eye is VERY swollen inside, almost like it`s gonna pop. And it is still red too. The cream has been all used up....The cornea is completely covered over, to which I am blind in that eye now.
That`s why Mommy hasn`t posted any more recent pix of me yet.
Hopefully she can get me to the vet sooner, and the news won`t be bad. I will keep ya all posted, as I have made soooo many new & wondurrful furriend on catster as well as my kitty family...
Mommy was also wondering ikf any fur could make me a DDP pic/plaque fur my page. it will be greatly appreciated, as she has her hands full today.

My First Vet Visit...

I was a bit scared at first, being in that big kitty carrier, mol. but i relaxed before we got to the vet office.
I have the usual "Stray Cat Syndrome" (fleas, which the vet told mommy how to control since I am too young for meds), ear mites (another thing he told mommy how to control since I am too young for meds)...I am 2 months old (roughly) and will share the same birthday as Fred, Spit & Purrs (June 21st). I weigh two (2) pounds, mol!
I have an infection in my right eye, as I described in a previous entry.
This I had when mommy found me. My cornea has slight damage as well. How it ahppened is unknown, but it was also done previously before mommy found me. The vet gave mommy some triple-antibiotics gel for it, and hopefully it clears everything up. Then the vet can take a better look at my cornea.
I also got my first set of shots! And I purred so loud, like uncle Spitty did at his visit, mol, that the vet said I am truly a well kitten!

The Vaccuum...

I`m not sure which is worse: The loud noise it makes...or the fear of getting swallowed up by it!!! mol...

My Right Eye...

I seem to have a slight infection in my right eye, which is why mommy can`t take any pix of me wiff my eyes both opened. My left one is fine so far, but my right one is a bit runny and is partially closed. It has been that way since mommy found me.
A trip to the vet may be in order soon so I will keep you all posted.

YIPPEE!

Today, Uncle Spitty FINALLY palyed wiff me! We had a blast jumpin on da recliner chair, teehee! He watched me as I batted da Catnip Mouse then he joined in! Purrscilla smiled as she watched!
Uncle Freddie hissed at me again, but only once. But then when he thought mom wasn`t lookin , he actually sniffed my rear! MOL!
So Spitty & i played arounsd on da coffe table, i`d go on top, then he would sneak a peek up at me then duck, and when i jumped down, he jumped up, mol! kinda liek Hide-n-seek, teehee!

My First Diary Entry!

Well, to start, there are 3 big kitties here!!! I`m sure you all know them already! Freddie & Spitty HISS at me and Freddie has actually BOPPED me on my widdle head a few times! He got yelled at, but Purrscilla comes to me, and Fred & Spit get away from me. Imagine those big guys afraid of widdle ol` me! I hold my own though, as mommy says I have no fear, mol. Me stands my ground! mol...
I`m so cute and lovable, I just wanna fit in!!! I got a bath, all I can eat buffet, a pedicure even!!! And big soft laps to lay in! Oh boy!
I`ve made several new furiends on Catster already and am looking forward to giving prezzies to them!
Mom plans on taking more pix of me soon to add to my page. She also wants to make a special CSS fur my page too!
I slept wiff her on the bed last nite, but during the middle of da nite, me had to get up fur potty purposes, and I couldnt find my way back to the bedroom! It was tooo dark to see!!! so today I plan on making a floor plan when mommy leaves fur work, so I know where everything is! hehehehe!!!
