My First Vet Visit continued

Well, when I woke up I was in a cage, with other cats and dogs around but none of them were familiar to me and none of the humans either except the vet and his assistant. I had both front legs bandaged and my tummy was sore, but not too sore. I slept a lot the first day, then the second and third day the human from the front came back and held me a lot, she was nice and very kind. Then, other humans even the vet and his assistant would come and take turns holding me. I missed my human mom and home a little but it was ok because these humans made me feel safe. The third day my bandages came off and later when I tried to scratch the paper in my cage, I had no front claws! Oh, if my family only knew, what would they say? I had the vet come and check on me and he put some kind of fluid on the back of my neck, he said to his assistant to kill pesky fleas, and then he put liquid in both ears and said I must have had a whole colony of ear mites in both ears and then he flushed the dead mites out later to get all the junk out he said.
Then, my human mom finally came the fourth morning and I was in the crate and on the ride home, I told her about every single thing they did to me and I did not leave out a single detail. I let her know how unhappy I was with her to for not consulting me FIRST before she took me there and was she aware of the practice of petting you and weighing you to sneak up on you from behind? Human mom talked to me and I understood Ok, Diva, Home, Mama, Ok, Ok, Ok...She said more but I didn't understand it. When we got home she opened the crate and I was so glad to be home, I laid on her chest all day, really, we got home early, human mom said it was 10 am and I laid with her until 2 pm off and on.
She said that I was 'Spayed so I can't have babies which is a good thing because it is what a responsible pet owner does if they are not a breeder and there are too many animals in shelters looking for adoptive homes and too many unwanted pets and uncared for and neglected animals-even kittens'...who would do such a thing? Humans certainly are peculiar beings at times.
I got over being mad and my humans are my favorites once again.

My First Vet Visit

Oh the HORROR and shame!! *shudder* Let me begin by saying that my human family WAS at the top of my list of favorites until the VISIT...*shudders again*
I had never been to a 'vet' before and had only taken the one trip in the crate in the metal box on wheels that humans call a 'car'. I do not know why they are so enthralled and fascinated by those things, I hate them-although human mom has said that she thinks I'll get used to it if she takes me for rides enough...HAH...something else I'll have to work on her training for. Unlike the Dogs, we cats NEVER go for rides in cars, it is undignified-UNLESS it is OUR idea, I had an uncle who enjoyed riding in one of those, though I have no idea how he trained his humans to do his bidding...at any rate right now I do not like it.
The 'vet' or 'animal doctor' as human mom calls him, is a nice human yet, I do not like some of the things he does. He told his assistant human to take me from my human mom, hold me and pet me and all the while he had an alterior motive. He was really taking my weight while he was petting me, while the 'vet' was loading a syringe based on what the assistant human told him and then he gave me a mouthful of yellow, thick, pasty stuff that sort of tasted ok, but I didn't know if I really liked it or not and just as I was trying to decide, here came a 'jab' in the back of my neck! OW! Then he scratched my cheek and under my chin and told human mom that I was a 'nice kitty', then he gave me a taste of some clear liquid that was awful, but made me feel kind of woozy and he took me into a back room and it was lights out. (to be continued)

My New Life Begins

I shall say that up to this point, my new life with my humans has been ok, I am after all 'training' them the best I can and of course it is very exhausting and time consuming...however, that is why I nap a lot. With rejuvenated strength that they think is boundless (I have heard my human mom say so) I continue the training sessions relentlessly, until at last they succumb to my desires out of sheer weariness ...resistance is futile.
Hah, let me add here that The Dogs do not have this concept down at all, we cats have it down to an exact science to which even human scientists cannot explain and are in awe. It makes their brains hurt they said just trying to keep up with my ideas and logic...*shakes head*...poor Dogs, I must say I sort of feel sorry for them.
At any rate, my human mom should be coming along soon, she does this time in the morning you know, to check my food and water and then sits on the sofa and has her coffee (I love to smell it...aaahhh) and I curl up on her chest.
Well, I'll add more but I hope you enjoy reading about my life such as it is. All divas have humble beginnings (my human mom says so)

A Name For Me

By the way, I learned that my mother was wrong, these dogs didn't chase me and still do not nor have they ever tried to hurt me. Lita chases the outside neighbor cats away from the yard, which has a fence around it so they aren't actually inside the fence, but she wants them completely off the premises.
I shall now tell you how I got my name. It was a pleasant day, lying on human mother's chest, purring while she had a stick of some kind in her right hand and a book in the other and she was trying to draw strange shapes in the book, I wanted to play with her stick. She put it away and said "You need a name...Tigger, he is my favorite Disney character" (A fictional cartoon creature I have since learned-humans are so peculiar). Well, since I tend to be a calmer sort, she felt that wasn't very fitting, and then thought about changing it. She didn't want to name me something 'ordinary', because she said I am special, so she held me up and looked at me and said "You just aren't a Tigger are you?" Then she set me back down on her chest and was thinking aloud.
Next to the sofa was a table (I have since 'claimed' it as my own) with a small table top mirror on it and I was watching myself, it sure did look like me and I thought How striking I am...look at my beautiful stripes and those lines and ooops, a hair is out of place...there. Well, my human mom was watching me and I looked up at her and she said "You are quite the little diva aren't you?" I mewed Yes I am how did you know? She held me up and said "Diva, should I call you Diva?" I mewed a loud YES and she set me down and said "Well Diva it is."
Now she tells people "Her name is Diva because she looks at herself in the mirror and she knows it is her face there. She has ever since she was tiny."

My Meeting With The Rest of My New Family-The DOGS

Well I was going to go on with the rest of my story, but for one thing ... 'The DOGS' ....*shudder* I must not leave that part out. Well, my cat mom did NOT like dogs at all and taught us they are bad, enemies not to be trusted and if they catch you they will hurt you so you must always RUN. Well, I personally, never saw one of those so I really had no idea other than mother's stories and she wouldn't lie to us...right?
Well, my human mom decided it was necessary for my development-whatever that means-to meet The Boys and Lita. Hmmm, I thought, I wonder who or what they are. The next thing I know my human mom wrapped me gently but firmly in a big bath towel, and then called Lita. Well, let me tell you about her. She is medium size, black, a lab mix (human mom says that) and she LOVES her green, round fuzzy thing that she always has in her mouth or always with her. She doesn't make that noise (human mom calls it 'barking') inside the house that dogs make, but she does outside-I have since learned that she is the oldest and so it is her 'job' to patrol the yard outside and make sure no strange people or things are there and that noise scares them away...well so she believes.
Lita actually acted rather timid of me even though I was quite small, but I still hissed and growled just the same as my mother taught me to do. My human mom kept saying to Lita be nice, see the kitty? and she just sniffed me once and then lie down with her round thing.
Now, The Boys is a different matter all together. They are yellow lab brothers, both are handicapped and young, a year old, have never seen a cat before and love stuffies (human mom says those are soft, plush toys)-so human mom had to keep telling them Leave IT, because they wanted to play with me like a stuffie, I wasn't up for that game at all and hissed and growled to inform them strongly. Human mom let them out of their wire crates, one at a time and first was Lucky.
He wanted to play with me and was jumping around all excited, but I did NOT want to play with him. He kept on sniffing me trying to say hi, but it took me a long time to accept him.
Then, there is his brother Star. He was very different. He is blind in one eye, and a 'gentle soul' human mom says. I think she is right, because he walked up and sat down and quietly and calmly sniffed me. Then, he just closed his eyes and human mom petted him and held me next to him. When I hissed and growled, she turned me around and scolded You be nice now, he's being nice to you.
After awhile, she put them outside and we sat on the sofa. What a day, I am so glad that is over-I am exhausted!

My Introduction continued...

Well, my human mom was appalled at the condition of the crate, apparently they borrowed it to bring me home in. So, she took it into the kitchen, and took it all apart and washed it and disinfected it. By the time she was through, it looked brand new. She put two nice, soft, thick cuddly towels inside and I went in and lie down on them for the first couple days. I was allowed to go in and out of it and explore around, but everything was so gigantic to me and I was so tiny, that I was very shy.
My human mom was holding and petting me when she noticed a pesky flea crawling and then another and another and before I knew it she took me into the kitchen sink and gave me ... can you believe this?... a BATH! Well, she just held me like my cat mom used to do by the scruff of my neck and looked me in my eyes and said gently, but firmly, You WILL let me groom you. And she did. I absolutely had nothing to say about the matter, and she was horrified at all the fleas , but they died and she combed out the rest and then, she didn't stop there ladies and gentlemen, oh no. She took me into the bathroom and laid the towel on the counter and blew a 'gun' at me that shot out warm air at my fur! The shame of it, if my brothers and sisters saw me I would be the laughing stock of the family for sure, I just knew it.
However, you know what? When she was done she held me, brushed me, cuddled me and put a brand new red collar on me with a bell on it so she could hear where I was she said, because I was so small. Then we sat on the sofa together. I laid there on her chest, cuddled up under her chin and purred loudly and slept. All in all, really it wasn't so bad after all.

My Introduction

Hello, please let me introduce myself. I am 'Diva' that is my name given me by my human mom. She met me when I was very little, I was 12 weeks old and had 11 brothers and sisters! That is because my cat mother a gray tabby and her friend also a gray tabby, had their litters at the same time - 6 each-all gray tabbies! They shared motherly duties and so after while it was hard to tell who was who. So we all got mingled together, but it worked out okay there was never any fighting over us.
My human mom was shown us by the 'other lady' and she let my human mom hold me and pet me. She seemed to like me, but said something about her husband, whatever that is, not really liking cats and not being a cat person-don't know what that is either. Well, she put me back down and left and I thought that was the end of it, but the other lady took me outside where my human mom was sitting and handed me back to her. It felt so nice to cuddle up under her chin and she was gentle so I laid there and fell asleep purring loudly. Then the other lady handed me to my human mom's husband and he held me and for not liking cats, really he was nice and gentle to. I just looked up at him and told him thank you in my best well-mannered voice (a tiny 'mew'), and he said Awww, and gave me to my human mom. The next thing I knew I left with them in a big, loud, metal box on wheels that didn't seem to bother them, but I sure didn't like it any. Also, they put me in a plastic box, with a metal door on front, some slits and holes on each side and a handle on the top for carrying it. It was dirty and needed cleaned up and I had leaves and pine needles in my fur.
When they got me to their home, they took me inside, set the crate on the sofa and opened the door and let me take my time coming out. After looking around awhile, it wasn't so bad and I decided I might like it here.
