She is the QUIETEST cat I've ever known. We have to be very careful to not lock her in a closet because she just isn't vocal enough to let us know she's trapped.

Arrival Story:
About a month after Captain got out, we went back to the shelter. There were a number of affectionate pretty kittes. I sat on the floor and just watched them. Jewel was one of the first to come up to me, and she crawled right into my lap. We decided she was the one, but found out she was pregnant. With our dogs, we didn't want to risk a preggie kitty. We made arrangements so that after her kittens were born and weaned we would take her home. A few weeks later, her 4 kittens were born, but, sadly, all four died within a couple days. We figure she just didn't want to be a shelter mommy, she wanted to be our kitty. So she came home, post preggie body and all, and curled up on the couch and slept for days, only getting up to eat and use the litter box. Now, she *adores* her new home :-)
Bio:
Not biographical, but desciptive. Jewel has tabby markings, but her base colouring is calico. She has no stripes on her feet, so the calico markings can really be seen there.

Okay, I just wanted to let you all know that I am not that chubby. Mom just *insisted* on showing a post-pregnancy picture of me. Blech.
However, I adore my hiding place under the Christmas tree. See, Mom put up this little fence around it. She says it's to keep the dogs away from the tree, but I know it's really to make me a dog-free place to watch the world from.
