Dad brought me to see the vet early this morning to prepare for my dental cleaning. I cried a little on the way there and then he let me out of the carrier and I sat on his lap while we waited. The vet examined me and then I was left there.
My parents agreed to let them do some xrays and then the vet called with some bad news--I needed to get some teeth extracted. If I tell you how many you might faint, but it's enough for each of us to put under a pillow! Blame my parents for neglecting our dental care, or for not taking the vet seriously sometimes, even though the vet did say sometimes it's genetics.
Anyway, after it was all over, the vet wanted to keep me there until almost closing time so I could be monitored, but she felt I was recovering very well. When Mom came to pick me up, the technician came out without me and told her I was "happy" and that when she talked to me and stuck her fingers through the cage I closed my eyes and started purring and kneading, which is what I do with Mom.
Mom and I were so happy to see each other and I just stayed on her lap while she talked to the technician. They had decided earlier to have a pain patch put on one of my back legs, and I have some antibiotics to take.
When I got home, the first thing I wanted to do was eat, even though every cat wanted to smell me, but they must have felt sorry for me because they didn't bother me while I ate. Then I gave myself a good bath and Quincy came to smell me! When he did that, I rolled on my side and started playing with him while he nudged me with his nose.
I'm not tired, I don't need a nap yet, so I'm sitting around. I must be feeling okay , considering what I went through. Mom hasn't really looked in my mouth yet, so she can't tell you about my pearly whites but I'm sure I still have some left and a tongue, too!
That Tooth Fairy better bring her entire family over and Mom better be a good nurse!
Sorry to hear you had to have some teeth take mate. I'm purring for you to make a full recovery and I know your mum will look after you well it in their job description to do so.
Awww Poor Riley having your tuffies extracted. It's better to have them out before they cause problems. I haven't had any tuffie problems but my older brothers have and they felt better when their bad teeth came out.
You will make out like a bandit from the tooth fairy. Hooray for you!
So sorry you lost some teefers! You will feel so much better withouth them though!
Oh No!!! Well, hopefully tha tooths ferrrrrie will bring tha monies under yr favfurite bed 'cause Mommy said they do that, and then you can get some kewl toys! I may have some teeeefs pulled someday 'cause I gots gingivitus and that's genetics fur me...but Mommy's fault too 'cause she's got ta try harder if she wants ta brush my teeeefs 'cause I won't let her!!!
Dang, the tooth fairy better have a full pouch of presents!
