Arrival Story:
Riley was our second adoption from Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit rescue organization. I went to PetSmart where they were having an adoption fair and kept staring at Riley because he was sitting up calmly looking around and when I stuck my fingers through the cage he licked them, so I started asking Debra, his foster mom, about him. She had rescued Riley and one of his brothers after their mama put them inside of a tractor to hide them. The workers heard the cries but couldn't find them until one worker unbolted the metal floorboard and found them dehydrated and cold. Debra bottle fed and raised them with other cats, a dog, and kids. After a phone call to my husband, I decided he was the one for us!! Safe Haven normally delivers the cats to their new homes but since they had recently been here with Sofie they told me I could take him with me. I left the store with Riley in tow, and a BIG SMILE on my face! Riley didn't need any time to adjust to his new home. He was like "Oh, okay, this is cool!"
Bio:
Riley has white fur like a cottonball at the tip of his tail, his bottom lip is outlined with black, and he's got an adorable pink nose! He's a real charmer with a suave personality and expressive eyes. Sometimes when I don't pet him enough he nips at me and gives me this dirty look which makes me laugh hysterically. Riley is funny as he will sit and block doorways when we (including the dogs) need to get by. He just looks up innocently at us, batting his eyes and won't budge. The dogs are very gentle with the kitties so they never force their way past them so with Riley they'll whine because he won't move. He's a kneader and a drooler too!

What a week of celebration I'm having. Monday was my Gotcha Day, today I'm Diary of the Day, and tomorrow is my 7th Catster Anniversary.
Thank you for all the cool forever stars, rosettes, special gifts, pawmails, friend requests, comments, and memento from Tundra. You're the best cat pals!
Mom was out shopping today and found out that a PetSmart is opening in our neighborhood. That is the one store that has been the farthest from our house so now she has another place to drag Huey to so they can shop for us.
Another year is coming to an end, so it's time for all of us to start thinking about our New Year's Resolution(s) and see if we can stick to them!

Thanks to everycat who sent us all the mistletoes this past weekend. A whole lot of kissing has been going on! We hope you had a very merry Christmas and are still enjoying the holiday season.
Thanks Zeeke & family, Tate, and Tyson for reminding me early this morning that it was my Gotcha Day! I guess you can say I was an after-Christmas special!
Mom remembers the day she saw me at the adoption fair and then called Dad to tell him she was bringing me home. She brought a carrier with her so she must've been on a mission! I was already named Riley by my rescuer and kept that name.
While in the car on the way home, I stuck my paw through the carrier door and kept swatting at Mom to try to get her to tell me where we were going. When we got home, I acted like I had been here for years.
Anyway, I guess I need to show you what was in the big box that I wrote about in my last diary. It's a short, double-tunnel cat tree. But, it gets even more exciting because after that, Mom could not pass up the sales she came across at local pet stores, so we got two more tall cat trees!
Thanks to everycat for your friendship. My whole family is looking forward to another year of fun with you!
