Bio: Hello I am Dolly, an 11-year-old altered female with silky brown tabby fur. I am a confident girl with lots of personality. You may look at my age and think I am too old for you, but hey, age is really all about how you act and feel -- I am extremely playful and much more like a younger cat. I just love small toys like pipe cleaners and paper balls that bounce across the floor at top speed. I am friendly, but definitely have preferences (really, who does not?) on how I like to be pet. I prefer light petting and seem to like petting myself against you so when I have had enough petting I can go along my merry way and get back to play or nap time. I respond well to verbal corrections like "Ah!" when I get nippy and correct easily. I am a patient gal and have been waiting for my new home since February 2008, yep you read that right. I am more than ready to venture away from the shelter and start my new life in a loving home. I would prefer to live without other cats and would do better with teenage children. I would do great with an experienced cat owner who is willing to work with my preferences. So if you think you are that special someone, just e-mail aliljenwall@phs-spca.org and ask for Dolly, ID A421929.

I have good news for all my friends at catster! I met with a potential adopter yesterday, a very nice gentleman, who doesn't have any other pets -- perfect, I'll get all the attention. He was surprised at how friendly I was, I guess my bio made me sound like I was shy. My adopter is heading away for a few days so I get to hang out with my foster family a little while longer and say good bye properly. My foster mom is happy about this cause she really got attached to me and needs some time to get used to the fact that I am heading to my forever home on Tuesday! She said she is really going to miss me and all my funny antics but is very happy that I am going to the perfect home where I will get all the attention and love from an understanding and experienced cat owner.
Wish me luck in my new home and cross your fingers I am a good girl and will warm up quickly to my forever home.
xoxo,
Dolly

I’ve been in my foster home for two weeks now. I’ve had a good taste of sweet home life and look forward to finding my forever home which I hope has a comfy sofa like my foster home. My foster mom and I have a bonding ritual now: when she greets me in the morning and when she gets home from work, she picks me up and holds me while kissing the top of my head. I love it, and purr happily. She usually walks over to the window so I can peer outside while she is holding me, what fun! I met the resident male cat and well…if I had to choose I prefer the resident dog. Dexter the Chihuahua and I have an understanding – I don’t bug him, he doesn’t bug me, so we can co-exist on the sofa just fine. The resident male cat on the other hand wanted to eat my food and use my litterbox which was a bit rude. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed watching a movie with my foster family and keep my foster mom company while she reads a Harry Potter book.

Hard to believe I have only been in my foster home a week now, I really feel at home! All the folks at the shelter were so nice to me during my 18 month stay there but nothing can beat having two whole rooms all to my self complete with a sofa and many lounging spots! I have been trying to earn my keep by helping my foster mom pay the bills...well sort of...I contributed by sitting on her lap and purring while she was writing checks. I also helped my foster dad prepare for an interview by calmly listening to him practice giving a presentation of his work and answering interview questions. I let him know when he gave a really good answer by rubbing up against his legs and giving a little meow.
Last night I watched a movie on the sofa with my foster mom, dad, and Dexter the Chihuahua. I really enjoy sitting close to my new friends and being included in their activities. Of course I am still dreaming of my permanent forever home. Do you think you could be the special someone to open your heart and home to me?
xoxo,
Dolly
