outdoors Arrival Story: Spooky appeared to us in the winter when it was snowy and very cold outside. She actually came to us around February. I felt sorry for her so I started putting food out the back sliding door. She was very scared and Spooky, (hence her name) and would not allow anyone near her. It took me 4 months of her scratching my hand as I held it out the door for her to see that it was I who fed and was trying to take care of her. She one day saw my hand come out of the door and went to claw it as she always did out of fear, and sat back. She then decided to rub her head underneath and finally felt the warmth and touch of a human being. Since that day I have seen her through miscarrages and pregnancies, none of which have been successful. She lives outside of our home and has a heated dog house for the cold winter months. She is so friendly to me now that she crawls right into my lap and allows for me to rub her stomach. I have tried several times to catch her to bring her to the vet to get shots and to get spade, but she is a street smart kid and evades and eludes my advances each time. This cat has truly renewed my spirit to believe that animals of all kinds have the capacity and emotion to change their behavior and adapt and love. She is a blessing to me every day that I am fortunate to have her here with us. Bio: Spooky disappeared suddenly from our lives two weeks before Christmas in 2004. I miss her terribly and sometimes go outside and call for her thinking that she may possibly come. I just know that she is no longer in this world because she would have never left on her own. Her devotion to me was so strong and we taught each other so many things. I will never forget the sunshine and happiness she brought to my life.
Bye for now my Spooky girl, rest in peace and someday we will meet again. :) The Groups I'm In: Beautiful cat eyes
