On Saturday; September 20th of '08 my oldest daughter suggested we go to the Humane Society, I had been wanting a kitten for some time so my 2 daughters, my 2 grandchildren & I went off on our mission - to find mom & grandma a kitten. I had wanted a grey male - which there were 2 - However this one rambuncious little black kitty won all our hearts! His name was already Onyx and couldn't have been more appropriate for his all black appearance - even his little nose!
Bio:
My oldest daughter was only to find out just days later when she told her friend that I had gotten a black kitten from the humane society named Onyx that it was her kitten who had supposedly run away from her mother's house. Her mother was paid to take care of him and later told Iris that he'd run out the door when in fact she's just taken him to the Shelter! I had said she could see him anytime and Iris was just glad to be able to visit with him! Quite the story - isnt

Onyx was a VERYactive kitten to the point the younger kids were afraid of him as he was always scratching them - he couldn't help it! On the 4th day he became listless, sneezed & his Ledt eyes was puffy. so I took him in for an ER visit at a vet who said he was very sick - his temp was up too! So I got all the meds which he hated of course brought him home and played kitty nurse for 2 wks. How frightening for us all! It took a good month for him to get back to his little kitty self!
