Oh my cat. We don't know if this is good or bad. It seems that I have surpassed Squirrel in poundage. Mom hadn't weighed us in a long while. About 6 months. Last time Squirrel was 11.2 pounds and I was 8.0 pounds. Well, now Squirrel is 9.8 pounds and I am 10.2 pounds. I think I overheard Mom saying something about trying to cut me back? What does that mean?
A puzzled and chubby Kitcat.
Oh no. Then next thing your mom is going to say is the dreaded die-it. Then, before you know it, your beautiful rubenesque figure won't be so rubenesque anymore.
Sweetie, what kind of food are you eating? You AND the other kitties in your house should be eating a grain free, low carbohydrate, quality protein canned food. Grains are just carbs and sugar and pack on the pounds and cause serious health issues like diabetes. 10 lbs is not overweight but anymore than that and you may be on your way.
Hey! I'm 14LBs and I'm STILL not on a diet....
Big King Henry
Hi Big Henry!!! That's cause you are a Finney cat! MOL! You and Finney are like brofurs. This girl is just right at the moment, lots of muscle in her frame. But we want to make sure she doesn't become TOO muscular if you know what I mean, MOL.
The extra weight has helped me hold my own with Squirrel in our scraps.
MOL! You'll still have the muscle Kit, matter of fact you'll have even MORE energy and feel quite good. Lots of lean muscle and low fat is what you should aim for. Take a look at the video on my sisfur Lacey's page, the one called Take your best shot. You'll see how strong her and Finney are on a good food.
What a great scrap Alex! Lacey's video is pawesome. And what an amazing cat tree!
Hilda, Henry, the word did come up! DIE-T. But, Squirrel & I think Mom needs one before we do.
If no body shape is good and you can still tell where your ribs are, then you are not too chubby. So there! MOL!
Vet can help your Mom decide about that...
You just gained what she lost. Dieting isn't fun. So, wrestle it off!
I am by no means fat, just Mom noticed extra padding on me lately. And with Squirrel losing a bit of weight, my "tiny" weight gain became that much more obvious. I guess this all started when both Squirrel & I decided to sleep on top of Mom and she guessed that she had 20 pounds of cat on her. So she just had to replace the batteries in the scale and see if she was right. She was.
Well, I think you look just fine.
Thank you Zoe! You look fine too. At least what we can see of you in your Easter Bunny costume!
It swallows me whole. Walking in it isn't fun either, but like I've said, Mom's right it does make a cute picture.
That "cutting back" talk is no good - you need to make her stop it!
