I'll let the human tell you, while I take a nap....
Walking home from school 18 years ago, I spotted some kids walking ahead of me. One of them tossed something into the bushes. When I walked past the bushes, I heard a squeaky little meow, and out popped a wee little black kitten with a white tip on his tail. I scooped him up and took him home so he wouldn't get into any more trouble on his own. I had to return to school, and had every intention of taking him to the humane society later that day.
When I returned from school, my roommates were fawning over the itty-bitty-kitty, and asked me what I was going to name him. Instead of taking him to the shelter, I took him to the vet where he was vaccinated, treated for a severe flea infestation and ear mites, and he has been with me since.
