Hey everyone my name is Tripod and I asked my purrdaddy if he would put my story on the computer since I can't type.

I don't remember what happened to me to lose my leg and my tail. I remember that my other meowmy tried her best to take care of me after the accident. I lived with her for quit a few years before it just became too much for her. I remember her calling all the shelters but they were all full and didn't have room for me. I heard one person tell my meowmy that no would adopt a cat that was missing its leg. That really made me sad and I cried my self to sleep that night. My meowmy really tried to find me a new home but she ran out of time and she had to take me to the animal shelter.

The people at the front desk were really nice and they petted me for a long time. I didn't even notice that my meowmy had left. One of the really pretty girls put a blue collar on me because I was boy kitty. They took me back to the room where they kept the other kitties and put me in this cage all by my self. I got really scared cause I wasn't use to being all alone. I could hear the other kitties crying and meowing because they were scared. I fell asleep that night all by my self.

The next day I woke up and heard the people say that lots of people would be coming to look at us today and maybe they would want to take us home. I looked out the door of my cage and saw that people would come and pick out a kitten to take home but only a few people came over to look at us older kitties. When they came to my cage I would purr real loud so they could hear me and maybe pick me. I just wanted one person to pick me and take me home to love. One family came by and I stood up so they could see that I was a really pretty kitty. Their little girl pointed to me and said, "He looks funny with one front leg". That made me really sad and I laid down and cried. No one wanted me or would give me a chance to show them that I can run and play just like the other kitties. After a while I just stayed in the back of my cage when the people came, that way they couldn't see that I only had three legs.

I didn't think I would be here very long cause every so often I would wake up and see that a whole bunch of older kitties were not in their cages. That's when I found out what happens to kitties that no one takes home. It seemed like no one would take home a kitty like me and that made me really scared. I guess they thought I was broken and who would want a broken kitty, who would want to love a broken kitty. I guess like everything broken they would end up just throwing this broken kitty away.

Today started out like any other day. I laid there dreaming about how I use to look out the window and lay in the sun. I was so surprise when I heard some one ask. What cage is Tripod in? Some one really wanted to see me? Out side my cage was a man and his wife and they said that they wanted someone to unlock the cage. They were actually taking me home. I waited a long long time but they finally came for me and I had my new furever home. When we got home I saw that they had lots of kitties. They were all running around playing and some were lying on cat beds and this looked like everything a kitty like me dreamed of. I have all sorts of brofurs and sisfurs now and I am one happy kitty. In this house they don't think that I am broken, just different and I like that.

That's my story up till now and all I can say is that my purdaddy and meowmy love us so very much and I love my new furrrrever home.
