The Porch Kitties

I hadn't realized Pretty Bit's passing was the last time these guys had a diary entry. It's with sad news I come back to this page after all this time. I found Tabb in the road several days ago. Again, the fear of a feral cat mom was realized. It didn't look like he suffered any. The... damage looked instant. Unfortunately, I was only able to get him out of the road. With nothing in my truck to collect him, I couldn't bring him home. At least I know he wasn't repeatedly mangled like so many poor kitties I see all the time. And I know he's with his mom again, and probably his dad as I haven't seen Gremlin in well over a year now.

There have been more visitors, but knowing I'll be at a 10 photo limit when my Plus expires, I haven't uploaded any. There was a long haired black boy who had some wounds on his head and shoulder. He only came by once, but he was friendly and let me tend is injuries for that one night.

Then there's one who's becoming quite the regular. A ginger boy I call Rasputin. He's a hissy little bugger but he doesn't really run away from me. Maybe he was friendly once, but was mistreated. I know to be careful though... he acts as if he'll attack rather than run sometimes. And I don't want him uncomfortable. He gets along with Spot pretty well.

There was a one time visit by a smallish gray tabby the other night, but he/she ran off quickly. And a large gray/white that might possibly be Pewter's dad, though I still think he's the gray one at the end of the road. ;) Someone owes me kitten support... lol!

Spot is, so far, doing well. I still live in fear of coming home from work one morning and finding her too, but there's nothing I can do. There's not a tame bone in that girl's body... lol! I think she knows her kids are in here though. When I hold Chiara up at the screen door, Spot just stares at her and meows. I think she knows that's her girl. She looks at Miska but doesn't meow. Speckle she doesn't react to at all though... but she had Miska with her longer than Speckle so that may be it. And Chiara was one of her first litter.
