I've been allergic to cats my entire life, but I've always liked them too. My father mentioned something about breeds that cause fewer allergies. He wasn't referring to Siberian cats, but my online research indicated they had the best track record with allergy sufferers.
I searched for a Siberian breeder and found one in Arkansas, 3 hours away. I visited the breeder first and spent time with his cats. I didn't have a reaction, so I put down a deposit on a week old ginger tabby.
A month later, the breeder's vet found out the tabby had malformed ribs. The breeder offered to switch the male tabby with a female calico he had intended to breed. The tabby was so darling and the ribs may never cause him any trouble. I hated to give him up, but both the breeder and I felt that with my own health problems, and this being my first cat, that I should probably have one without increased potential problems.
Lexi is an amazing cat and while I'll always wonder how the sweet tabby is doing, I'll never regret that Lexi became my new companion.

Lexi's parents are Nadia and Petyr. She has 3 littermates. She was born in Arkansas at Monte Ne Siberians cattery.
