Where did all the mousies go?

Mom let me back into the basement last night, but no mousies! :( Did I catch them all? Maybe the word got out that there's a Mighty Hunter in that basement, who is to be feared, and they're all hiding in the neighbors' housies? Or they decided it was safer outside? Hmmmmmm ….

Well, I'm sure Mom will keep letting me down there, so at least the stalking will continue . . .

I'm having so much fun lately! I caught another mouse in the basement last night!!! Tee hee! Mom got it away from me, though, before I could eat it. I think she's still afraid they may not be safe for me to eat, but she doesn't understand, I LIKE mice!!!! They're fun!

Later I wanted to go back in the basement but Mom wouldn't let me, no matter how much I begged. Maybe tonight I can talk her into it. Wish me luck!

Does it taste like chicken?

Every night, Mommy lets me go down in the basement. I love going down there because it’s a fun place to explore, and sometimes there are even mousies down there! They usually come in when it’s cold but for some reason there‘s still a mousie in the housie. Mommy saw it on Memorial Day running along the rafters of the basement ceiling. I’ve caught a couple mousies before but Mommy always got them away from me, but last night, I not only caught it, I ate it! Mommy was grossed out, and worried because she didn’t know if the mousie was safe for me to eat, but I seem okay so far. After I ate it, I gave myself a bathy. Mommy wonders if I finally realized mousies were food because she gives me raw chicken hearts and gizzards as a treat. She asked me if it tasted like chicken. I’ll never tell! (Silly Mommy--and she calls ME goofy!). MOL!

New toy

I wanted to add more to my diary but Mommy's been having lots of problems getting online. I got a new toy mousie!!! It squeaks and everything and I just love it. I'll swat it and chase it around the house, then carry it around in my mouth. Mommy calls me her "mighty hunter." And I am!

Birdies!!!!

So Mommy hung this box outside and now all these little birdies keep coming to it. They take something out of it and fly to the big tree, then fly back. I have to keep watching! I talk to them, too, but they don't seem to hear me, even if they fly down to the deck and get really close.

Mommy says she hung the box so I can watch the birdies while she's at work. Thanks Mom!
