Well no good news to give today. I went to the cat colony yesterday and gave my special call. I give it to gather the clan each night. No other kitty understands what it is all about. Well most don't, a few neighbor cats will hear the sound and come and stand at a distance hoping to be invited to join.My heart felt sad when I saw all those heads pop up in the field hoping it was their long lost owner coming to get them. More have been left there but thoughtless people. One very nice lady has taken care of them for years, God Bless Her.
But as I have said before, we have a "No more room at the Inn" policy at the moment. Since contributions have been at almost zero most of this year(bad economy)we can do no more then take care of what we have.
One bright contribution did arrive from a close supporter to help start a "Reward Fund". We promised to return it if we need not go that far. Most people around here will no except our money. The good deeds we have done are normally repaid in strange ways. And we are so thankful for all the kindness we have received.
We have never had to experience a "Lost" kitty at C.J. before and it is turning into a very educational thing for us. We are meeting neighbors we have never met and receive wonderful advise from so many places.
My best contact is, one who has had to endure not once but twice the same kitty missing "MR. D". I'm sure many of you are friends with him here on Catster. I'm sure many know his story of his Human's long 6 month quest to find him. It even made the TV and went around the world. A very unnatural search tactic that ended successfully. Wearing a kitty costume and standing on a street corner was the most inventive thing I have ever heard. Plus did for three weeks. I have been given a lot of good tips from "MR.D." Thank you for all your help and friendly support.
Facebook is another outlet that I have been able to use. The friends on there in my group are all kitties and their Humans. I am asking them to copy my "Lost" post and place it on their page. Every little thing may help bring him home. HomeAgain's page was a bit discouraging when it said only 2 or 3% cats are ever returned home. I sure hope they are wrong. I was thinking 10% at least. I like my odd's better.
Thank you all, and I must go and do some more looking today before I go to bed and go to work. Nudges and licky licks to all.
