I hope you don't mind that I post my quest. My hope is that some of my ideas may be used by others who have lost cats plus you may have more idea for me to use.
This Lost kitty may start something to help all Lost Kitties so I'm calling it "The Z Quest".
Yesterday's Quest. Nov 18 2011
We distributed post cards with several images of Z with info.
to Spca, pet stores, vets, pizza take outs, grocery stores, and doors of neighbors.
I posted pictures and info on Facebook pg and Lost Pets pg, Google,Ebay news, and Petfinders, under several listings such a American Domestic, Polydactyl, American Domestic longhair and med.hair. Passed out and talked with neighbors, postal delivery people and placed posts on car windshields in area. Plus I e-mailed/with photo to other SPCA's in the surrounding areas.
Place a 10 day ad in the local newspaper that also covers Western Virginia. Followed up on one found but, had already been claimed.
Petfinders seems to be a very good link as is connected to many rescue organizations and Human Societies throughout the U.S.A..
With talking with neighbors I received information and leads on our Mr. Z. These leads range from he may be in Ohio or somewhere between. Also in Western Virginia near the West Virginia boarder or in surrounding county's. Why we say Ohio a next door neighbor gave us that lead. We also have another or a possible abduction leading to a place called Shenandoah Acres Resort. This has Campers, Apartments, and Cabins. We have notified the owners of the resort. 2 people placed him in the yard across the street around 2:00 in the afternoon. The school buses come through at 3:30/4:00 and that always scares all of the guys to the outback as they don't like the noise. So with all these leads that's where the abduction came into play.
Some ideas may seem far fetched but all will be a hope. I know the chances are as slim as winning the big dollar lotteries but I have always been lucky. I don't play the lottery. A few scratch tickets now and then but, that has made me an even dollar player no big winner. The odds sound good enough to me.
We are asking for dollars to help with the Quest, no pressure intended. If you know anyone who would like to help, please Send to P.O. Box 207, Stuarts Draft Virginia 24477. Even $1.00 will buy 2 posters. You can post a message on our Facebook or e-mail us at calico.junction@yahoo.com.
Thank you all.
If anyone would like to go on Facebook and copy my Lost postings please do so and post it on yours and have your friends do the same. Anniespokescat or Calico Junction Sanctuary Supporters will both have it. Just Google either and you can get there.
Thanks for your kindness once again Dear Catsters. I will not give up even though the odds are low. Each little effort we make may be one step closer to bring him home.
Crossed Paws Here.
