Arrival Story:
Jake was a stray. He had been rescued at six months of age by the rental agent at our first apartment complex. She adopted him out to another couple, who kept him for a year until they got divorced. The divorce was so bitter that the husband ended up having to give up the cat in order to get partial custody of his 3-year-old son. So Rita, our rental agent, took him back. She knew we were looking for an adult cat (he was 18 months old by then) and called us, and in October 1997 he came to live with us!

Bio:
The reason I say Jake has 8 lives left is that he ran away once and was gone for two and a half weeks. He stayed in the area of our apartments, though, and a couple of weeks later someone saw one of our signs and called us to say they had seen him hanging around! We went looking for him that night and miraculously, we got him back!
