Hi every kitty! Whew, I had a long and exciting day yesterday!. Checked in at 8 and the show started at 9 and we got home at 6:05 . My Meowmie is very proud of me. I didn't hiss or bite at all, but she wishes I would have played with the judges a little more.
I met lots of new people and so did mom and dad. Everyone was really nice. I was benched next to Bluebonnet Munchkins. I was judged in 7 rings. Since there were no other brown classic tabbies with white except for me, I got best color in all 7 rings. I received 2 best color in division and 4 third best color in division. I received Best HHP in a specialty ring, 3rd best in another specialty ring and 6th best in an Allbreed ring.
Dad was getting tired and after my 6th ring was over, dad asked mom if she wanted to pull me out and go on home. Mom daid no, that she didn't want to go and she said we might as well stay and you'll never know what will happen! Dad picked me up to bring me to the last ring and mom said she wanted to bring me up this time. Mom was whispering in my ear all the way there. She must have been good luck! I was in the first cage and mom and dad sat by me in the chairs in the first row near me. The last judge was a soft-spoken lady vet originally from Mexico. Mom and dad were surprised and happy when she put that best color in division ribbon on my cage! She got down to the last three rosettes and mom didn't think I was going to get one. Then she gave 2nd best to one of the cats that kept beating me. There were a few cats left. And she said, "I have to go with the Big Guy!" That was me! Mom and dad's jaw dropped. I was up against quite a few good=looking pet-quality purebreds. There were 16 HHP's in all, but a few of them were pulled and one was a rescue who left early, so there were 12 cats in the last ring.
People were remarking how beautiful I was and everytime someone passed my cage, they said, "That's a big cat!" The lady next to us (Casanova's mom) said she overheard a couple of judges talking about me. Mom showed pics of me, Kahlan and my cat-momma, Aphrodite to people who stopped by. Mom and dad got asked a lot what kind of cat I was.
Dad had lots of fun; I bet he didn't think he was going to like it. Mom got to meet two of her old internet friends that she has been knowing a long time. I think I may have a show career ahead of me!
P.S. Look on the fifth page of my photobook for more pics of the cat show!
