Arrival Story: I came to the Junction as a young adult. I was fixed and tested upon arrival. Since the Junction was small a lot of kitties would come and visit. No one knows when, I contracted AIDS. Ickie II was feral and young when she arrived. She would not leave as we became close fur friends. No matter how the Humans tried they could not catch her. She was trapped after her wild babies were caught and taken to a foster home. Ickie II is now my room mate. She is the mother of Annie Spokescat, Amber and Pooh. She is very Feral and camera shy. Blue Loves her very much. They are the best of friends.

Bio: I tested positive to the Feline Aids Test many years ago. Ickie II is my room mate in a enclosure. She would only be by my side. She does not like other cats. She tested negative for Aids in her last days with me. Blue has never shown signs of sickness since his illness in 2002. His house has A.C. / heat/ and has a radio. It includes a 8 ft square screened porch with runs for them to adventure out among the trees to observe the surroundings and wildlife safe from any harm. He likes classical or easy listening music and does not care for rock or country. How do we know? When we play what he doesn't like he sleeps outside on his porch, no matter the temp. When we play what he likes, he will curl up in the top of his cat tree or sit on the window shelf and look out. He loves to beheld, loved,
kissed,and brushed.
Dec 9 2010 note from Blue:
I sure am a very lucky kitty. We have a real nice comfy insulated house that has heat and a generator if things go bad here in the winter. Icky II and I have a nice comfy house with a tall cat post with a bed on top that Icky II likes to share with me. We also have a heat lamp over the bed for those super cold nights. We both love our window perch too.
We have a kitty door that goes into our porch. It is covered and we spend a lot of time out there through out the year. It has lots of shelves and walkways so we can run and play with each other.
Our runs are covered in areas, but it is open on the top so we can watch the squirrels and birdies that play high up in the trees. We get Christmas decorations in our house to look at. We are unable to touch as they are placed out of our reach.
We do share half of our home with 5 others. The house is divided so they can stay in and enjoy warmth when they want. They are in all night, safe and sound.
Blue left for Rainbow Bridge 5 p.m. EST Feb. 21, 2013. He will be a very gentle sweet addition to the Bridge. I'm glad that he will be greeted by many fur Angels.
I know he will be so happy to be home with Ickie II who left him for the Bridge 1 1/2 years ago.. Blue was Annie Spokescat, Amber and Pooh Bear's Step Dad. He took very good care of them when they were babies. He was our Guardian when they were feral.
He washed them, played with them and slept with them while Ickie II would go running about a few hours a day. They were at the age of wanting to adventure out on our own. He was the only father they ever knew.
He never gave them AIDS even though he got very sick and was found to be positive shortly after the three kittens where captured. They were fostered until the new Junction was ready for them to move to.
We will miss him dearly and those gorgeous blue eyes will never be forgotten. We are so very happy we were able to share most of his years with us here at Calico Junction Sanctuary.

Stunning photos

The pictures are of my home at Calico Junction. I live with my life long friend, Icky II, the mother of the triplets, Pooh, Annie and Amber. Each year the man human adds more stuff to my home. This year we may not get to much. Some new indoor/ outdoor carpet would be nice on my porch floor.
The picture of the woods is the view from my porch. The cat on the top of my cage run is Sylvester, another part of my family he loves to climb my cage and play with me.>>>>Read more about Blue on Annie's and Icky II's pages.<<<<<<

I can't believe how blessed I am. I'm sitting here at the Bridge watching the beautiful clear water pass under Rainbow Bridge. This Bridge, I just walked over a few days ago gives me comfort and peace. I sat there thinking of the life I had, while on earth.
I thankfully could not remember much of my first few years. The Angels here say, it is better not to try and remember. They said, Kitty Angels only remember the good in their life not the bad.
I do remember: meeting my sweet Ickie II when she first arrived at the Sanctuary and how small and beautiful she was. She was scared and would not go near Humans only to me.
I remember: she told me she just loved laying in my arms under the big maple tree on a summer's day.
I remember: when she told me she was going to have babies and how wonderful it felt to know she was going to be a Mommy.
I remember: playing with them and teaching them how to be strong and happy.
I remember: the day they left and then to my surprise we moved. Then they returned to the Sanctuary to live forever.
I remember: how happy Ickie II was to know that her babies would be taken care of forever just like us.
I remember: how the days with Ickie II were so wonderful. We got to laze in our runs safe and secure: We were under the trees where we could watch the birds play. The squirrels scampered about while we laughed at their crazy antics.
I remember: my good friend Sylvester. He would lay on top of our runs and play foot tag with us.
I remember: Male Human and all the hard work he did fixing up our little world.
I remember: how he would come and sit with me and brush me while, Ickie II sat and watched happily from a high perch over us.
I remember: Girl Human cleaning our house and sing to me while she worked.
I remember: Male Human had a special song that he made just for me.
I am so thankful I have those wonderful memories of the time I spent with our Humans. I thank them for all the wonderful things they did.
We will watch over them and you from Rainbow Bridge. Each time I watch the water go under this beautiful, but busy bridge, I will think only of all the wonderful times I spent on earth.
I will think of the Humans who were good to us. We are grateful to all our Catster friends on earth and here at Rainbow Bridge. We are grateful to have know all the humans that we good in our lives and all you wonderful kitties we got to know over the years. Thank you guys for making our time on earth so memorable.
