indoors Arrival Story: Helene-Iris originally came from a farm in Missouri and was rescued with several other cats, including two of her littermates. They spent the bulk of their life in a cat sanctuary with numerous other cats before I adopted both Birdie and her sister Gabielle. Bio: Helene-Iris, or "Birdie" as she is nicknamed, has asserted herself over the other cats in the household. She's a bold and curious cat who loves to climb up on high places and survey her surroundings. Birdie tries to boss Brooke around, and naturally Brooke doesn't like it very much! Maus has become smitten with Helene-Iris, and he tags along after her whenever he can. Likewise, both Birdie and Gabi get along well with him! Her unusual nickname comes from her unusual way of purring. She sounds like a hummingbird when she purrs, and makes a whole array of interesting meows when she wants attention. Imagine my surprise when my meowmy told me that my diary was picked by the random diary picker person! (Or is it the random diary picker cat?)
Even cooler than that is this new cat tree that my meowmy got for me and Gabi! It has three levels for us to climb on, and sisal scratch posts, and a cubby hole to hide in, and even a ball to play with! We LOVE our new cat tree! It's the best present ever!
Thank you to Muppet for the pretty furever crown, and to Buddie, Eve Layla, and Sugar for the concatulations!
This past Sunday, June 20, was me and my sister Gabi's one year annifursary in our new furever home! We've been a lot of places in our ten years, born on a farm down south, and then living in a sanctuary with lots of other cats for most of our life.
Gotta run! Gabi's got a new toy mouse that I want to ste - errr, borrow! :)
Today is Gabi and my first birthday in our new home. Gabi says that, since our year anniversary here is coming up, I should start a journal. Our meowmy says I have a lot to say, so here is a good a place as any to say it!
10 years ago, my sister and I were born on a farm. Our beloved rescuer saved us, and we spent nine years in a cat sanctuary with a lot of other cat friends. We liked it there, but the sanctuary was closing, so we needed somewhere to go. In stepped our meowmy, who knew us through working there, and brought us to our new place!
I must admit that it was scary at first. I'm usually a brave cat , if I do say so myself, but I hid for a week, only coming out for food. Now I know that there's nothing to be scared about, not with all the different rooms to go, and sunning patches, and soft beds to lay on!
Our meowmy bought us a cool new tunnel to play hide and seek in, and a cat toy for each of us with delicious smelling catnip.
So that's my furrst entry! Hoping to have more to post about soon.
