Male Human say's listen to the signs:
Male Human is home and feeling better today. He had a very rough road. He had an injury to his arm and it became infected. His temperature was 101. Girl Human took him to the hosp. Wed night. They gave him a strong IV antibiotic and they told him he could stay. They said the drug would remain in his system for 24 hours and he could go home if he wanted to. We got home at 3:30 in the morning.
The next day he got up at 12:30. His arm looked awful. Red and swollen from his wrist to his mid upper arm reddening quickly twords his armpit. He had a fever with awful chills.
Girl Human took him back to the emergency room and he was admitted to the hospital. He was given IV drip antibiotic after one kind after the another. 4 kinds in all. It was not going away. They told him if he had waited any longer he would have lost his arm.
On Friday a piece of something was removed from it. It looked like a piece of wood/multch imbedded in the wound .
How did it happen??
He was playing with Decker. He pushed the envelope. Decker's tail was telling him he had, had enough. Male Human kept playing with him. Decker grabbed Male Human's arm and clawed and gave him a fairly deep bite. He must have had the mulch in his teeth.
So when your cat says leave me alone--- Listen please. It could cost you a lot more then you realize.

Oh my, oh my, is sooooo skeery. Sumtimes mama play wif me too mush. I bites her (not hard) & bunny kick but I nefur really mean to hurt mama. I bet Decker dinnit mean to hurt Male Human like that.
Me & Ingen is sendin' POTP to yer Male Human an' hopin' he gets all better soon. AND 'at he learned his lesson.
Purrs for male human. That was very scary and a good warning for all of us. We hope he continues to see improvement and that he soesn't have many side effects from the antibiotic. We know Decker didn't mean it, but sometimes play gets a little too rough and we just get over-excited. Sometimes Murphy bites Mom when she is getting her pills. She doesn't have many teeth (Mrs Murphy, not my Mom), but she has already given her a pretty good puncture wound on her finger.
O my cat!!! Cellulitis is a a nasty business!!!! I once bit Mom cause I was afraid. It was a holiday weekend so she waited till Monday. She almost lost her finger. Mom didn't learn too good cause the same thing happened again about four years later. Hoping that yer male human gets better quick.
Many purrs. I'm glad he didn't lose his arm. That's amazing how serious a bite can be. Many purrs he feels better soon.
What a frightening experience! Hope your male human is soon better.

Mom has heard that there is nothing worse than a cat bite...so beware humans! when we don't want to be bothered leave us alone...
hugs to you all
What a scary situation. Sending lots of purrs, glad that it didn't end up worse, which it easily could have. Mom got attacked on the arm one time while volunteering at the animal shelter, it took a long time to heal.

Oh my, we are so glad Male Human did not lose his arm to the infection. My furkid Arrow bit Mummy on the arm once after she (Arrow) got chased up a tree by a dog. Mummy was trying to rescue her. She had to have a shot and antibiotics and the mark on her arm was there for about 2 years.
How scary for Male Human! Thank catness he got treated before it became much worse ~ sending lots of purrs.
Yes a bite is something that always needs to be watched closely! Our MamaCat was bitten on her foot by an outside kitty years ago when she fed stray cats. She had trouble walking for months!
Thanks for this great Diary entry Ms. Annie : )
Congratulations on your DDP today Annie. We hope Male Human's arm heals quickly.

Concats to you, Annie...and to your Male-Human for getting better. That was scary and so easily could have been a lot worse.
Purrs fur complete healing.
Did not know that male humans were eatable -- more serious like, hope he doing better every day!
Thanks for the good info Annie. Yes our bites can be very bad.
This sounds like an odd bit of bad luck with something getting stuck in with the bite.
We are all so glad Male Hooman is getting better.
