Arrival Story: I had lost one of my two 18 yr old part siamese cats 2 months earlier, (Betsy), and had another at home who could go at any time. A friend asked me to go to the Humane Society with her because she wanted another cat. I didn't want to bring in another cat or kitten in my home for fear of upsetting my "KitKat" who didn't get off my bed any more except to eat and potty. They were so full that cages were out in the lobby and halls. In one of the hallway cages was a litter of kittens that were all sleeping, except this one. Every time I bent down she would run to me and want to play. The lady who fostered the litter happened to be there and told me that this one was her favorite. (Of course she was.) She told me that this one was always playing, and was very curious. She would cry every time I tried to walk away from her. This should have given me a hint as to how much of a "talker" she was gonna be when she grew up, but it didn't. She can wake the dead with her scream, and will not shut up until she gets what she wants. My friend who kept on with the "Oh go on, take her", now calls her "the little screaming black a** banshee". :) LOL

Bio: Three weeks after getting Kallie I lost KitKat. It was really tough but having this little kitten who still needed and loved me helped me with the pain. Kallie is my baby now, she meets me at the door and tells me all about her day. She sleeps with me every night and is always there for me. She can be quite the demanding little kittie, but that's OK, I love her with all my heart and would be so lost without her.

Well it's happened again. Last year around this time Mom brought in a tree from outdoors and now she's done it again. What's with humans? They wont let you outside to the trees and then they bring 1 in. So, she brings in this thing, lets me&Joey sit and watch while she stands it up and puts all sorts of crazy stuff on it, then gets onto us for wanting it. hmph
Joey drinks the water from under it every time tho. Just goes to show you that boy cats can be as strange as humans. I'm not drinking that filthy stuff. I even make Mom turn a faucet on so I can get super fresh water.
But I can promise you 1 thing. Before that tree goes, I'll be had my way with it. That hangy stuff is mine.
Merry Christmas to all Furs and your Humans too.

It's with a very heavey heart that I bid adieu to a very special furiend, Pounce. Pouncey crossed over the Bridge today around noon. She was a special girl who had an especially tight bond with her Mommy. Her page doesn't give either of their stories justice. For the first 6 yrs of her life (short of being beaten) Pounce was abused. Locked in a rm the size of a small toilet with little to no human interaction. I could go on but I wont. Then her Mommy, not a cat person, took her in rather than have her sent to the shelter.
THe first yr Pounce tried to attack her every time she walked into the rm. Then begrudgingly she started to except that her new Mommy wasn't trying to do anything bad to her.
For Mommy's part, she had No idea what to do with a cat, much less the little psycho she had taken into her home. Her dealings with cats were little and she just didn't believe cats to be, well, "all that". Slowly but surely they started to except eachother and learned to deal with all the changes the other brought.
Theirs was a special human/cat bond. The kind we all want to have in our lives if at least once. Pounce followered her Mommy every where. Never let her out of her sight. Slept above her head every night. Pouncey proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that cats can be much more than just "all that".
In the end I believe that they each may have saved the other in a way. They each gave the other a love that neither believed possible.
*Lifting glass* To Pounce!!!! To the love she brought, to the love she shared, to the love she saved!!!!
Pouncey Furever!!!!!!

He also didn't mention that friend said he was the biggest fattest cat she had ever seen. 20lbs...Now that's fat.
