Well, I've been living with my new family for a little over 2 weeks now & it's going ok. Mom & Dad are pretty nice. They pet me a lot & give me lots of kisses. Mom gets a little mad when I try to steal food but my new sis, Pixie said she'll help me with my technique.
Speaking of my siblings, they're ok too. Pixie is the best, she warmed up to me first and we have fun running & playing together. Julius is getting nicer too. He plays with me sometimes, and other times he growls at me. Don't know what to make of him. Coco doesn't really like me. She gives me a swat if I get too close. But Pixie said she's like that. My half siblings (the dogs) aren't bad. At first I was scared of them cause of their size, but now I know they won't hurt me.
Oh and I recently discovered that I like when mom sings to me. She's kind of off key, but I like the silly songs she makes up about me.
Yawn! I think it's time to go nap. I don't miss my life at the shelter much at all.

I made it a month in my new home!! Mom & dad are learning lots about me. Too bad mom keeps forgetting my name! She calls me everything but Harry, just doesn't seem to stick. Well maybe she'll get it right after another month.
They've also learned that I LIKE TO EAT!! I've so far chewed through a bag of cookies, a loaf of bread, a new bag of dog food and a box of dog biscuits! At breakfast & dinner I run around like a little maniac meowing while mom gets our canned food ready. Yummy! Too bad she only gives us a little of that. Then we get that yucky dry healthy food. I'd rather chew through a box of DOG biscuits than eat that stuff. Oh wait, been there, done that! :)

Wow, I can't believe I've been living here 5 months now! I'm beginning to furget what the shelter was even like.
My siblings have accepted me now, well, for the most part anyway! Pixie is a lot of fun - we share a love of furry toy mice. But she's the smallest kitty in the group and I'm a big brute and sometimes I play too rough and make her cry. Then mom or Lily comes over to break it up. Pixie usually gets me back by stalking and attacking me when I least expect it. Boy those all black kitties are sneaky!
Coco pretty much ignores me, unless I try to play with her. Then I suffer the wrath of Coco and I usually give up. My brother Julius is an odd one. Mom can't quite figure out if we are playing or if it's a male struggle for dominance. I think its a bit of both. Sometimes I chase him, but a lot of times he chases me and I back down. I think I should be king of the house since I'm bigger, but jeez, that skinny Jules is a tough one! At least he stopped growling at me.
My best playmate is Lily. She's a dog, but we still play. I grab onto her legs and I've even managed to take her down a few times!! But then she usually rolls me on my back and then ever so lightly nib nib nibbles my belly. Mom was worried at first, but now she can tell that I like it. I even make squinty love eyes at Lil when she does this. :)
I'm not so obsessed by food anymore & no longer feel the need to clean my plate and everyone else's too! Oh and here's my BIG secret.... Dad picked me out to be "his" cat. See, he's been really missing his old pal Pepper who passed away last March & the other cats just seem to like mom more. So he wanted a buddy & that was to be me......but....shhhh.....so far I like mom better!! I can't help it, I'm just in love with her! I follow her around a lot and say meowm, meowm - when I want her attention. At night, I wait till she goes to bed, then I crawl all over her head & chest purring like a fool. Finally I get sleepy and settle in to sleep on her legs. Don't get me wrong, Dad's nice and I do like him, sigh, but not like mom. Shh! Don't tell dad!!!!

My pride is still a little bruised today. Yesterday was an exceptionally nice day for November in Pennsylvania. It was over 70 degrees and sunny. Mom had the windows open to get the fresh fall breeze in the house and she had the front door open too. I love when the front door is open because then I get to look out of that big glass door...it's almost like being outside!
Anyway, since it was so nice out, Mom decided to do some work outside. She was doing her thing out there and we were all inside doing our thing (watching birdies!!) and all was good. She even walked up to the door to say hello to me since I was watching from the glass door. Then as she was walking by, this wonderful little yellow bird came flying towards the front door. I got so excited that I jumped in the air at the glass door!! Mom saw the whole thing and heard the thud as my paws hit the door. MOL!! She said she was glad she had locked that door before she went out because I would have popped it open with how hard I hit it!!!
I thought for sure I could catch that juicy bird! Rotten door got in my way!!!

I know this goes against the very nature of us kitties, but, I have a goal in life...to be a DOG! Ok, ok, I hear all the gasps, but listen, those dogs have it made! Here's why I want to be a dog:
* They get to go OUTSIDE!
* Walks - they go on these walks and when they come home I smell their paws and oh, the smells on them! The places they've been...an indoor cat can only dream.
* They get to hang out with mom, yes, outside, while she gardens. How much fun would this be? I love mom, and all those plants and dirt? PARADISE!
* Treats - their treats smell pawsome. I've tried to chew my way through a box of dog biscuits, but mom caught me. I also try to steal their treats out from under their noses, but they eat too fast. (Mom says I'm lucky they're so gentle and don't do anything when I try this. I think THEY'RE lucky I don't try harder! MOL!) I don't care for those cat treats that mom offers me.
* Toys. I already enjoy playing with their toys. I like the possum - its tail is great fun, and the Santa toy with a plastic bottle in it - love to bite that! Most of those delicate kitty toys end up being destroyed by my super strong paws.
* Wrestling. I try to wrestle with the other kitties and they're screaming like I'm killing them or something. Sheesh! I can't help it they're a bunch of light weights! But, when I wrestle with Lily, the dog, she enjoys it. Sometimes I try to jump up on her back and bring her down....haven't perfected that yet, but I'm working on it. And she has at least 40 lbs on me! Then she puts the Sleeper Hold on me. She rolls me over and nibbles my neck & back. I LOVE that! Its soooo relaxing. My eyes get all sleepy and squinty. And, it keeps my nice white tummy clean. A win win!
So seriously, can I just be a dog already? They've got it made!!
Purrs, errr, make that WOOFS,

Sunday was my birthday and guess what??? Mom forgot all about it until she got a happy birthday email from Catster!!!! All I can say is thank cat for Catster! Sheesh! Get on the ball mom!!
So on Sunday I got extra attention & loves from mom, but that was it. Today, however, mom made up for it! I got a new mousie that moves when mom pulls it backwards. Oh I love love love it!! Especially its crazy tail! I also got a new cardboard cat scratcher that I have to share with my siblings. We just love 'em. Why they're almost as much fun as scratching the couch...um, not that we ever do that! ;) Oh and I also got a ball that is made of catnip. I wasn't really interested in that but Julius & Pixie sure enjoyed it. Then we all celebrated with a special snack - Fancy Feast Appeteazers or whatever they're called. YUMMO!!
I also want to thank all my furriends for making my birthday extra special! Big thanks for all my cuppy cakes, party hats and kites that I received from:
Napoleon & Colorado
Luke, Tully, Natasha & Sammy
Love & purrs,
PS...I overheard mom say she's making chicken tomorrow...Woo hoo!! Party time again!!!

My humans tricked me and Pixie and took us to the vet today. I didn't realize what was going on at first. I guess I was too busy watching mom & dad try to catch Pixie. She gave them a good run but they finally got her. Next thing I know, mom scoops me up and plops me into another carrier. What the heck, mom??!
As soon as I got into the car I began to express my displeasure. MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW! Pixie only gave out 1 little mew, but I could not stop. It took us about 30 minutes to get there due to traffic and I meowed nonstop the whole trip. Mom was getting a little worried about me cause I started to pant, even though they had the air conditioner all the way up. I wasn't hot, just upset.
Once in the vet's office I quickly got quiet. Pixie went first & the vet lady was commenting how beautiful she was. In no time it was my turn and dad, mom & the vet had to pull me out of my carrier. The vet gave my mom some ointment for my eyes cause of the brown gook I've been getting. Then she gave me my shots. But they didn't hurt nearly as much as the next thing....that vet lady said I was overweight!!! WHAT?! And my humans agreed! At least mom stuck up for me a little bit and said that I had lost some weight since I was adopted. But she did agree with that lady that I could lose a bit more yet. AH! How humiliating!! The vet said otherwise I was very healthy & my teeth looked good. Then she did say that orange tabby cats are her favorite....soooooooo, I guess I don't hate her too much.
Time to go home and yup, I meowed almost all the way home. Once I got home I meowed some more, just to let the humans know that I was glad to be home but not really happy with them. Then mom gave me some chicken :) Guess my diet starts tomorrow MOL!

Most of you kitties read about my insulting trip to the vet when they told me I had to lose weight. I am still smarting over that fat remark!! The vet said increasing my exercise will help but mom has always had trouble playing with me with any of those "interactive" toys cause I would always break them in seconds. I've chewed through strings, ripped out feathers (and eaten them, yum!) ripped off those shiney sparkly things, oh just about everything is demolished! Guess that's why mom nicknamed me Brutus.
Well earlier this week we got a package in the mail. Mom opened it and said she had a toy JUST FOR ME! Its a Go Go cat wand. What's special about this is that instead of a string it has a braided wire that holds the mousie to the wand. So far its held up to my brute strength!!! And, it makes me absolute, positively NUTS!! This little mousie on the end taunts me and I go beserk! The other cats love it too, especially Pixie. She will jump on anything, anyone, anycat to get it!!
Today when I caught the mousie in my mouth I growled at Pixie and tried to run away with mousie but the wand was still in mom's hand so I couldn't go far. Mom tried to pull it out of my mouth but I was really clamped down on it! Then mom tried to reach for it with her hand and I smacked her hand with my claws!! Finally she got it out of my mouth and said that was enough for now :(
She keeps it in the coat closet and when she puts it away I always meow! Give me back my mousie!!!

I couldn't get on the compooter cause my mom was out of town for a funeral. But she's back home & I'm back on Catster!! Yippee!
Oh, and guess what??!! We have house guest now. A beagle is staying with us for a whole week!! I came out to meet the beagle after about 15 minutes & I decided I like her! She smells all doggy!! MMMMMM, I love dog smell. And she's almost the same size as ME! I knew dogs came in my size. This convinces me that I must be part dog!!! What good news!
Anyway, I really like this little dog. I rub my head all over her and follow her around. This seems to make her a little nervous...she must sense my Brutus strength MOL!!! I know we're gonna be good pals!!
See ya later Catster buds!
