Arrival Story:
This house had previously been occupied by three scottish folds. Joules was the baby, and when she first arrived in the house Susie was very mean to her. My older boy, Bailey, decided it was his job to welcome Joules to the house. He was just as nice as he could have been to her. Joules and Bailey fell in love, and even though Bailey was fourteen when she arrived he thought he was a kid again. Bailey was affected by the food poisoning of 2006, and wound up passing away in the summer of 2008. Joules was very sad, and then tried to make friends with Susie who would just like to be left alone. This wasn't going to work, because Susie didn't want any part of Joules. I had to take swift action, and I was lucky it worked out. I found a breeder who had kittens who were old enough to go to new homes at the end of August '08. The breeder had three kittens, but the one I really wanted had a deposit on her. It was between Rafa and his other sister. Since we had lost a boy, I thought it wise to try to approximate the same balance of hormones that had previously existed here. Rafa and I drove home (almost six hours), and he was just as good as he could have been. I let him out of the carrier, and he spent the whole drive on the center console. He was rather rambunctious for the first few months, but has since settled nicely. Now Susie has her solitude, and Joules has someone to play with.
