Too Cute!

Last night mom was watching a show on Animal Planet called Too Cute Kittens and I was napping on the couch. During part of the show a dog was barking and woke me up. I looked around and saw that it was on tv. Then I saw KITTENS on tv. They were mewing and getting into all types of trouble. I couldn't stop watching it! Mom had fun watching ME watch the show. Then the commercials came on and I was all confused. Where did all my cute kittens go? Well I had to find out so I got off the sofa and jumped on the tv stand for a closer look. Hmmm...still don't see them. So then I looked UNDER the tv stand...kittens! Where are you?? Maybe they went BEHIND the tv....nope! Where did they go? MOL! Mom was laughing quite hard at me. I just wanted those kittens back!

COTD? Where's Mom??!!

Oh my sweet friends thank you all for the wonderful gifts and notes you sent me for my COTD!!! Mom has been out of town at her mom's house (my grandma) Grandma had surgery so mom was there helping her. Unfurtunately mom was away for my COTD win!!! It made me a bit sad...but what made me even sadder was that mom was eating macaroni & cheese and meatloaf without ME! Yes my super sniffer was able to tell that she was eating this even though she was 50 miles away! Hrmph! And she didn't even bring any back for me.

Well I decided to forgive her...after all she IS my mom...the ONLY human I love MOL! I gave her lots of kisses today...she even had to tell me to stop.

I'm sending lots of kitty kisses to all my friends too. Thank you all again. So sorry I'm late saying thank you. I really do need a more reliable secretary!

Hello My Friends!

Happy Sunday to all my friends! Today is shaping up to be a beautiful day here in our neck of the woods. The sun is shining---hooray! We have had so many rainy dreary days lately...sure is hard to find a spot of sun to nap in on days like that! But today is gorgeous - hope its nice where you are too.

This morning I followed mom into the basement where she was folding laundry & rubbed around her legs. She picked me up and held me in her arms and boosted me a little higher so I could look out the basement door window. I really liked this and started purring like mad. Then I started head butting mom's chin so she gave me kisses on top of my head. This bliss went on for a few minutes...until........mom said "Oh Pixie! I think you farted!" mol mol mol! Whoops! Excuse me! Mom has bought some different kitty food - its cheaper and she thought she could save a bit of money. Ha Ha Mom! You get what you pay for!! Julius is a little gassy from it too. But don't tell him I said so!!

We've been missing our Catster friends so much! Mom has been so busy that she's been sliding on her duties as our typist! Sheesh! If she didn't buy our cat food I'd think about firing her! I've been trying to tell her how much I miss her but she's not paying attention! :o Every morning after I eat I start following her around from room to room as she gets ready for work. She pets me and talks to me but then says "I'm sorry Pixie I have to get ready for work." I miss my momma!

Oh and as for growling at strangers - I'm still doing that. The little girl across the street stands outside to wait for the bus and I growl at her from my window. Mom has been trying to pet me & tell me that its ok. But so far I'm not buying what she's selling me!! Mom wonders how you socialize a scaredy cat like me?? I wasn't like this as a kitten.

Help For A Scaredy Cat

Hi kitties! My mom wants to ask for help so I'm gonna let her borrow my diary for a bit....

This is Pixie's mom here. I've noticed that Pixie has become even more afraid of people than she used to be. She is strictly an inside cat and nothing has occurred to cause this behavior. Lately she has begun to growl at people she sees from the window. The first time it happened it took me a minute to realize it was her and not the dogs. I thought that was just a fluke because she was growling at the mentally challenged man that lives in our neighborhood. He sometimes acts erratically so I thought perhaps she just was frightened by something he did.

Today I opened the window for her and she started growling again. This time she saw our neighbors getting into their car. Now its not like they live right next door. She saw them across 2 yards...I couldn't even make out their faces.

Has anyone else experienced this? She's been acting normally otherwise. She is eating, playing and is still affectionate to me. She shows no inkling of illness, so I really think this is a fear, not anything physically wrong. I want to help her get over this fear, at least to some degree, but I don't know what to do! Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Ok, its Pixie again. I don't know why my mom thinks this is a big deal, but she does. I'm just warning people to stay back!! MOL!!

Love & Eyeballs

Happy Valentine's day everycat!! I'm sending you all lots of virtual hugs!!

Speaking of love, I have to tell you about my mom. She's the only person I love! I tolerate my dad but I really don't like him touching me!! I think it hurts his feeling cause I run when he tries to pet me...its not his fault...its just the way I am. Mom thinks maybe a man scared me or hurt me when I was a kitten. But I do like to roll in Dad's stinky t-shirts! MOL! Mom thinks this is so gross. When Dad comes home from work & changes he throws the t-shirt on the floor for me to roll in! Mom is always yelling at him to pick it up! Hee hee!
Oh, and if we have visitors, furget it! I'm hiding in the basement. Yep, I'm a real scaredy cat. But when it comes to Mom, she's my person. I crawl all over her. I lick her face. I sit on her and purr purr purr! Mom is secretly flattered that she's the only one I like...shh! Don't tell Dad! Even when she went to the shelter to see the kitties, she never even saw me until she sat down in the cat room & poof! There I was crawling into her lap :)

Ok, now on to the eyeball segment. Me & my (adopted) brother Harry get brown eye gookies in our eyes sometimes. We've been to the vet & she said its just allergies. Does any other cat get these? Mom is mildly worried because she thinks it could indicate something is off in our immune systems...even though we are very healthy otherwise. She just got us some holistic eye stuff that she's going to try putting in our food. I keep telling her she's a worry-wart but she asked me to ask all of you anyway.

Time for my afternoon nap in the sun! Happy Valentine's day! Love you kitties!!

4) When dad tries to pick me up. I mean, really?? C'mon, you know only mom can do that!
5) When they take me to the vet. Horrors!!

I'm a Great Hider!!!

I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when vistors come to our house. Ok, not a just a bit, but a BIG scaredy cat! As soon as I hear a knock or the doorbell I'm running & hiding. Usually I run down into the laundry area in the basement and crawl up into the ceiling rafters. Momma knows to find me there.

Well on Sunday night there was a knock on the door. As usual I took off but OH NO! The door to the laundry room was closed!! I had to find a new hiding spot.

After the visitor left, Mom & Dad were looking for me. They checked everywhere...but no Pixie! Mom got a flashlight & started opening up every closet in the house and looking under the beds and furniture. Still no Pixie.

They was getting a little panicked now, they'd been searching for me for about 15 minutes or so. Our house is only a little ranch so there's not that many places to hide...or so they thought!! Mom took the treat bag around the house and shook it. The other 3 cats were following her but still no Pixie. Dad went back down the basement again. He finally noticed that one of the cushions on the old sofa down there was a bit askew. He lifted it up and SHAZAM! I jumped out!!! Dad yelled that he found me & I was already running upstairs. All mom saw was a blur of black running by her!!

Now that they found this hiding spot I'll have to find another!!! ;)

Fleas??? Or is it just me?

Many of my sweet furriends have been making comments on my pictures....BUT, lately they're not all showing up. Mom gets the notification in her regular email and sometimes when she goes to look at it on my page, its not there! For example my Christmas picture shows 3 comments, but when I click to go read them, I only see 2. But other comments are showing.

Weird! Could this be mom's computer or are there fleas involved? Any other fur having this problem???

I'm a finalist in the Sleeper Category!!

Mewow! I can't believe I made it to the finals in the Coolest Cat contest! Never would have thought I'd be a finalist!! Oh and my brother Julius is a finalist too! I've also seen lots of my furriends are finalists as well. Talk about a tough decision! WOW! All those pictures are awesome. I think Mom needs to start practicing her photography skills. Wait a sec...that would mean I'd be bugged with more pawparrazi pictures....hmmmm...maybe she can practice on Coco instead MOL!!

There's blood and mom's real mad at me!

I have this bad habit. When Mom is grooming herself in the bathroom, I like to come in and ask for attention. Her hair smells nice and I like all those fun brushes she has out. I jump up on the bathroom counter and watch her for a bit. Soon I want to be picked up and I start rubbing around her and even stick my little paws on her to let her know of this. She always picks me up and then I like to pretend she's a tree and scale my way to the top (her shoulders.)Then I usually rub my head against her head and purr. Sometimes I even lick her hair a bit, but she usually stops me when I do that.

Unfurtunately I furget that she's got skin, not tree bark and I tend to use my claws. Today I really dug my back claws into her skin and she yelped! "Pixie! What did I tell you about those claws???!" she cried. Then she looked in the mirror and saw that she was bleeding right below her neck. Whoopsie!

Mom glared at me and I gave her my most innocent look. I have an awful feeling that she's going to try to trim my nails as soon as I finish this diary entry! NOOOOOOOOO!
