Oh boy! Big excitement at our house tonight. Mom came home from work to find half of a mouse on the kitchen floor!!! Oh yeah, we had a mouse in the house and one of us caught it!! Mom is mortified that a mouse got in the house. She feels the need to assure everyone that we have NEVER had a mouse in the house before (trust me, I know nothing's ever been THIS exciting around here!!)
Mom is being typical mom about the whole thing. She of course googled "dangers of cats eating mice" and now is worrying like crazy. She's nervous that perhaps that mouse had ingested poison before coming into our house or that it carries tapeworms or other parasites. Mom is watching us all like a hawk cause she has no idea which of us ate half that mousie. It even could have been one of the doggies. Mom's also obsessed with finding out how this mouse got into the house in the first place. Why can't mom's just chill and let us enjoy the FUN things in life? How come she's not as excited about this as we all are? Sheesh! What a spoil-sport.
Well I gotta go cause mom wants to check down in the basement to see if she can figure out where that mousie came from and see if she can find the other half of it. I sure am not telling!!!
Meow to ya later!!
Julius, I got too excited about the word;- MOUSE! To even worry about your Mum worrying. Mol! My friend, that is awesome! Wish I could have been there to help. I LOVE chasing mice. Purrrs!
It sounds like you all had an exciting adventure. I wonder, who ate it? I bet you'll nver tell.
Wish dat was my house - course mouse would have been fast food around here. Wouldn't have left no half a mouse behind neither. Well -- maybe da tail. Concats on yer fun day!
It's like that old joke..."what's worse than biting into an apple and finding a worm....finding half a worm"! We have had mice get in our basement, they can fir in very tiny spaces.
Congrats on killing dat mouse! See, I know the right response, even if mommas don't. ;)
We've had those little buggers in our house too. Mom is embarrassed about it, but those buggers can naw and chew their way into very small spaces to get in. One time mom thought I was playing with a cat toy, but when she looked closer, it was a mouse! I hadn't eaten it, but I was just playing with him. One time my bro ate a mouse that had died in some water in a bucket outside - mom saw half a mouse hanging out of his mouth and before she knew he slurped down the rest of the mouse (which must have been soggy and juicy being in that water). Mom was also worried and looked up info online, but he didn't have any apparent problems.
Good job to whoevfur caught that little mouse!
Way to go, Julius! Maybe our days of mouse hunting are gone but much to mum's ignorance we chased every mouse in both neighbor's yards for years!. Mum just innocently replied to the neighbors,
"My my, but we don't have mice in Oour yard". Little did she know!
Those mousies sure are tasty!
