Arrival Story:
Rakki was born Lucky. Her litter was born to a country cat on a farm in rural Nebraska. Sadly, her mother did not take well to the birth of her kittens and died shortly after. Rakki was the only kitten to survive from a good sized pack of kitties. Rakki was raised from kittenhood to 6-months by a male co-worker of mine. My co-worker unfortunatly already had a black lab, tank full of fish, three kids, and other farm animals to care for and felt he was not doing her justice. So, knowing that I already had one spoiled kitty, he asked me if I would be interrested in adopting his little angel. On a snowy day in Februrary, my co-worker arrived at my apartment with a meowing kitty-carrier. Inside was a bundle of fur, just begging for attention. My older kitty, Ko as you all know, was not to keen on the idea of a little sister... But we've both warmed up to this bundle of joy. And she has become part of our own little littler-pack. =D

Bio:
****On December 01, 2009. At 12:26am. Rakki-chan passed away.**** She had been fighting a really bad UTI for the last three/four weeks. A trial of anti-biotics did not work. And the vet had ordered surgury. She had 9 stones removed from her bladder the Friday after Thanksgiving. We got her home that next day, and everything seemed fine for the first 24hours. Then she just seemed... too still. Always sleeping. Hardly ever coming out for a drink of water or to use the box. And she certainly did not eat. Then when I went to get her out from under the entertainment center last night, she was far too limp. She was still alive, but non-responsive. So I held her. Tried to give her water with a dropper. Tried to get her to become aware of her surroundings... But then her breathing got worse. And I could hear her breath catching. And I just held her tight to my chest, until she stopped. And she became heavy... A still, kitty angel. She's now on that pretty Rainbow Bridge with Bubba and Joehanna...
