indoors Arrival Story: Rosa was brought to our doorstep a week ago. A woman was holding her in her arms and rang my doorbell. I did not know the woman. She said, "we've been trying to contact the Shelter for three days...this cat has apparently lost her kittens and she can't live in our neighborhood! She's declawed on all four paws, she's can't fight and she can't hunt. We don't know who she belongs to, but she needs help, and we can't help her". She reached the cat out to me. Of course I reached out too and took Rosa into my arms. Poor Rosa was sooo skinny and her tits were soooo full and hard. I thought she must be in pain, but she acted like she could not feel them. They were not tender to the touch, she was not ill with a fever, but she was hungry I found out! The woman said she was allergic to cats and needed to leave. I got from her before she left, her name and what neighborhood she was from, then I looked up her house number. My husband took that cat back there and Roas showed no interest in leaving his side, to go to her kittens. She seemed only intent on him picking her up. He said he could not leave her there and he did not think her kittens were near by..or alive. I called the lady that brought her to us and she said "don't leave her in our neighborhood, no one will feed her!" The vet said "take her back she needs her kittens!"....we didn't know what to do. We were told the cat had been begging for attention for at least four days before she was brought to us...and no one believed the kittens were alive in the neighborhood where Roas was begging. Rosa needed rest and food and safety. We were not going to be able to help the kittens, but we knew we could save her. Bio: Who declaws a cat and doesn't spay it? Who lets a declawed un fixed cat outside alone and defenseless? Who are these people?
Rosa is not yet fixed, but she will be before she is adopted. The adopter will have to pay the vet bill. You'll get a declawed spayed cat for the cost of the spay and vaccinations only :) Lives Remaining: 6 of 9 I've Been On Catster Since:
I lady called my foster family and was wondering if they knew of any cats needing a home that might do well with a very old woman. They said their mother's cat got cancer or a tumor and did not live long. Apparently the old woman got the cat as a kitten and that was not a good choice, as she takes blood thinners and kittens like to bite and scratch..but they made it thought all that, then the cat got sick just after a few years.
Well I don't have claws and I never bite :)
So my foster Mom said "come see what we have here at our house". Well...they met me and thought I'd be a wonderful match and took me to meet the old lady that had no cat. Apparently it's a match! I was last seen curled up on my new Moms lap and we were both as happy as can be. So...this may be my last entry for awhile, but don't worry, I'm just chillin at HOME with my Mom :) Rosa
