Win the Cat Sweater Christina Aguilera Wore on "The Voice"
There I was, watching The Voice, like I do most Tuesday nights when full episodes hit Hulu -- raise your paw if you don't own a TV either! -- when something stopped me in my tracks. Christina Aguilera and her fluctuating hair, featuring neon extensions for this episode, were in the middle of a mentoring session with an aspiring artist. And there appeared to be a collection of cat heads printed on her sweater.
I played back the scene and took a few screen grabs to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. They could have been little aliens or foxes, after all. Could Christina really be wearing kitties? Could I possibly love her any more than I already do?
After confirming that the answers to those questions were "yes" and "double yes," I knew I had to find this sweater and procure it. Fifteen minutes after consulting The Google, I came across the "Cute Cats Jumper" from Romwe, a Hong Kong street fashion destination. The sweater was eerily similar to Christina's, and while priced at $43, a few coupon codes later I had it in my cart for $27, shipping included. Score!
When it arrived, I immediately knew it would be much more fun to include it as a giveaway in a post than to add it to the oodles of cat- and dog-themed items that already spill out of my closet. (Seriously, it's a problem. But when you're an editor at Catster and Dogster it comes with the territory.) So here's your chance to take it home!
This sweater is marked "one size fits all" but I'd say it'd be most comfortable in a size 14 and smaller. If you'd like to win it, leave a comment below telling us how you'd rock it. I'll choose my favorite answer next Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 12 noon PST and contact the winner by e-mail to find out where to ship it. The prize can be shipped only to U.S. addresses.
To be eligible for the prize, use your Disqus account to comment below. Creating a profile and avatar takes just a minute, and it is a great way to participate in Catster's community of people who are passionate about cats.
(And note that if your Disqus account doesn't contain a valid e-mail address, you can't win because we can't contact you. Boo! So please check your account.) If you win and we e-mail you, you will have two days to respond or we'll pick someone else. That's just how it goes ... you'd be surprised how many people fail to get back to us after winning! Lamesauce.
P.S. Days after the sweater arrived I did another search for "Christina Aguilera cat sweater" and the Internets offered up this beauty from Wildfox Couture, priced at $334. (OW!) I wish I could afford to give that version away, but hey, no such luck, sorry!
