Joanne McGonagle


Joanne has a Global Field Master of Zoology degree with a concentration on big cats as well as a MBA. Her studies include time at the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, Amboseli National Park, and with the Maasai in the South Rift Valley of Kenya.

The Tiniest Tiger's Conservation Cub Club is an award-winning site dedicated to all cats big and small. Joanne is the author of two books, The Tiniest Tiger and An Ordinary Toad's Extraordinary Night.

My Favorite Things to Write About Are: Wildlife conservation programs beneficial to both wildlife and humans and about the big cat instinct in our own cats. 

My Pet Peeves Are: People staring at their mobile devices instead of being present at a live event.

My Guilty Pleasures Are: Coffee, cheese and chocolate.  I spent most of my career in the specialty food arena.

How I Deal with Cat/Dog Hair: We are a carpet-free home but still vacuum a lot, steam clean and carry those sticky rollers with us. We brush the cats to keep their shedding to a minimum

What I Want to Be When I Grow Up: I want to be more like Dr. Jane Goodall
