Why in the world if a cat has been spayed would male cats still pursue her?

We had a stray cat that came by our house spayed some time back when a couple of males were pursuing her relentlessly.

I don't know what you are asking but my guess is that you want to know if your cat can get pregnant from a male spraying a fence or other area. No she can't. The female must copulate with the male. That initiates her egg to release and then combine with the sperm. That is the only way for her to get pregnant.
