Why does my DSH male neutered cat chew my phone cords?

Cats seem to like strings, and wires seem to peak their interest similar to strings. If he's young still he could be teething so depending on age he also may need more chew toys like kitty kong or a kitten safe stuffy. I found the easiest way to get mine to stop was distracting them, when they'd get fascinated by wires I'd distract them with fish on stick, or laser. They found it not interesting pretty quick. Other suggestion if you can't stop him is pvc piping or something to pull your wires through to protect them if he continues trying to chew. Good luck to you.
