Why does my cat flip her head violently while playing?

My Cat has always been this way. When ever she would play with another cat or with a simple toy. My cat will flip her head violently. She isn't hurt and doesn't seem to be in pain, but I can't help but wonder why she does it and none of the other cats I've had haven't. Honestly I've never seen it before. She loosed balance though and falls over.
