Why does my 6 month old female, Samantha Bite my face when there is too much noise in the house?

She will climb right up my body and chomp on my chin or my mouth as if to say "shut up already" even if I am not the one making the noise. She doesn't break the skin but it is still hard enough to hurt a bit. This is the only time she does it....If the kids are being too loud or if people are speaking in loud voices. She also gets agitated by the sound of the ringing telephone and will try to bite that too......(Not that I blame her on that one....LOL!) I have checked her ears and they are free of dirt or mites and they do not appear red inside so I don't believe she has an ear infection or any medical issue. Can some cats just have really sensitive ears? She never bites anyone any other time....Other than this, she is always a sweetheart!!!!

The noise probably stresses her out, and she releases the stress by biting. Does she have a lot of toys to play with and take her aggression out on when she gets too stressed? It might also help to get a kitty condo/playhouse as somewhere she can go to escape the noise and feel safe. If there's a certain time of day that's more noisy, you might consider putting your kitty in a separate room that's quieter, with some toys to play with. Hope that helps!

My boy cat always climbs in the bed with me and snuggles up to my face, he will bite my chin and jaw line. I was curious about why he did that. I researched it and read it was cat kisses. He doesn't bite hard though. I'm the only one he bites on the face. Lucky me.
