His breed will be domestic short hair, domestic medium hair or domestic long hair depending on how long his fur is. That is the official breed classification for all mixed breed cats without a pedigree/papers.
His colouring could be considered to be "tuxedo" if he has enough white fur, but this is a color/pattern rather than a breed.

Since you said, red, black and white. I'd just guess a Calico. Without a picture its kinda hard to pin point. :P

Are you sure your kitty is a boy and not a girl? If the red area you are referring to is a patch of red and not a rusty shade of black, chances are good that you've got a female. For genetic reasons, male cats almost never have red and black markings together. It would help if you posted a picture (join Catster--it's free). If your cat has black areas mixed with red, and a white tummy and chest, the coloration (not breed) is tortoiseshell and white, which sounds like what your cat is. Calico also designates coloration and not breed. A calico cat has more white all over the body, and the patches of black and red are larger and more clearly demarked. If your cat really is a male and really is a tortoiseshell, he is a genetic anomaly. Bring on the photos and we'll guess again!
