What is the most effective way to get my Himalayan cat interested in it's toys.

I try to play with my cat using toys, but she is not interested! How can I change that?

In my experience, most cats have toys that they prefer and others (regardless of cost) that elicits just an "eh" from them as they walk away looking insulted. All 3 of my cats absolutely LOVE the little mice I found at Wal-Mart that have a computer chip implanted in them. Whenever they're moved or played with, they chitter and must sound like a real mouse to the cats. Delilah, the Divine Diva, will actually roll over on her back and hold them between her paws! I keep replacing them with different versions to keep them interested. I've never seen a cat who won't play, at least for a while, with those fishing pole "teaser" toys. They make flashy ones with foil fronds, also. In answer to your second question, exercise is the best way to keep her fit, just like in us humans. Cats crave attention from the people they love. Sometimes we have to convince them how much fun it is to play. but don't give up...cats are naturally curious and when she sees YOU having fun, she'll wonder what's up!

I agree with Izzie. Several of mine have their own specific favorite toy that seems to be of very little interest to the others. You just have to figure out what Poppy's "thing" is. Maggie, Piper and Destiny come running from all corners of the house if I crumple up paper so it really may be the simplest thing. I didn't think my 7 year old rescued kitty, Carly, knew how to play at all and then one day I caught her going crazy for this little stuffed ball toy. When she has had a good meal, she seems to feel like playing afterward. That is HER thing. But without fail, ALL of them come and try to participate when I break out the laser toy, the stick with feathers and bells on it or "da bird". The toys that Mom plays along with seem to be fun for everybody.
