What do i need to get before i get a new cat?

Ok i want to bring home another cat. his name is Barney and he is an 8yo large male and is neutered. He gets along well with the other cats, and hes large so he may not freak out about Thornes size. I know i need another litter box but is there anything else i need

When you bring Barney home, BEFORE you bring him home, set up his own room for him with a litter box, food, water a blanket/bed of his own and maybe some toys. Keep him separate from Thorne until they are playing "footsie" under the (closed) door and seem interested in each other. Then, short visits only, and supervised. There will be hissing and clawing. Expect it. Let Thorne into Barney's "room" to investigate his scents while Barney is out exploring the rest of the house. Check with whoever you are getting Barney to make sure you are feeding the same food and using the same litter as they are. Barney doesn't need digestive upsets from new food and getting accustomed to new litter. Take the introductions slowly. Check with your vet for more advice. It takes time, patience and consistency.
