What can I do about my new (4 1/2 month old) kitten peeing on the couch? She seems to have a clean bill of health.

Should I get a different kitty litter?

"Seems to have" is kind of vague, really. She may have a bladder infection. Usually, the only symptom is peeing outside the litter box and only a vet can tell if she has one by culturing a urine sample. If she didn't like her litter, she probably wouldn't poo in there, either. You need to clean up the pee spots with an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle. I've also hear that powdered Tide detergent also works on pet stains. This will eliminate the odor left behind which draws her back to that spot. You can try changing litters to an unscented brand or one such as "Cat Attract" if she doesn't have a bladder infection. Make sure her box is in a private spot where there isn't much traffic, such as a basement, laundry room or spare bedroom.Make sure it's scooped at LEAST once a day. But first, get her checked out at the vet's.
