We just adopted a 7 year old cat, and while he is very loving, he wont quit crying. Is this just cause its a new place.

Yes, he's probably scared and trying to get used to his new surroundings. You don't mention how long you've had him, but it can sometimes take a new cat quite a while to get used to things. He may be looking for things, people, other cats from his previous home. Poor guy. Just give him some time and lots of love and attention.

When you adopt a cat, or any animal, it's always best to take it to your vet right away for a thorough exam. I'd be willing to be that what Guest said is absolutely true. Your kitty is missing his last home and needs reassurance from you that things are OK and he can relax. But, do take him to your vet for an exam just to make sure everything is OK. And, bless you for giving this guy a home!
