We had two cats, sisters age 15, one died, should we introduce (2) kittens into our home?
We are concerned about the older cat not having a companion, but we are also concerned about the kittens well-being with an older cat.

It depends. We had a feral kitten, 3 or 4 months old, walk into our house to stay. (She's named Amelia Earhart for her travels.) Our 6 year old male, Daniel (Webster, the orator) immediately found his nurturing side and has been taking care of her for the last 13 years.
On the other hand, we adopted 2 feral kittens about 2 years ago. Amelia can't stand the sight of them and lets them know it. We cope the best we can by giving Amelia lots of extra attention. The younger 2 are brother and sister who don't care what Amelia thinks.
You may have a cat adoption group in your area which allows temporary placements of cats to see what works. Muffins in Brooklyn, NY is one such agency. [www.muffins.org]
