To answer your question, a female should be at least a year old before becoming pregnant. I would strongly encourage you to have her spayed though. Cats do NOT need to have a litter which will only contribute to the pet overpopulation issue. Every kitten your cat has will take away potential homes from those in shelters. Do you know up to 8 people who will want one of your future kittens AND give them good homes? Raising kittens is not all fun either. What if the mother rejects her babies? Are you willing to bottle feed and care for them every 2 hours 'round the clock? What if there are complications with the pregnancy and birth? What if an emergency c-section is needed? What if the mother or kittens get sick? Can you afford the vet bills? The mother will need prenatal care and the kittens will need well kitten care. Kittens should NOT leave their mother and littermates til they are at least 12 weeks old. Think about this carefully. Breeding is best left to responsible breeders.
