Unfortunately, momma cats don't have a gauge on them that measures milk output. True cat breeders will weigh their kittens and know how much a kitten should weigh at what age. Newborn kittens do move around a cry because they're looking for mama and food. Mama will nudge them toward her nipples and make sure they're eating.
