I was looking specifically for a long haired kitten and this lady I got my kitten from assured me she was 90% sure that she would be long haired. Now that I have her..I believe she will be short-haired and not long haired. I've had a long haired cat before and she looks nothing like my old cat. Can I some opinions? www.catster.com

Your kitten is very young, and it will be pretty impossible, unless she is a purebred and you have seen her parents and have papers on her, to be able to tell exactly how long her fur will be when she's a grown cat. Izzie didn't have that "full-furred" look when he was 12 weeks, but now, at age 5, he has a luxiorious coat. Not long, but full and shiny. Sasami is a very cute kitten! I hope you will decide to keep her and love her even though she's not exactly what you wanted.

Some cats can take up to 5 years to fully develop their coats.
