Does she allow you to hold her? One trick for getting a cat to the vet is to put it in a mesh laundry bag (the kind you use when washing delicates). A cat who is "bagged" will usually be so stunned that they quiet down a bit, and can be put into a carrier. As for what will happen at the vet's--that's your vet's problem, not yours. I have a bunch of Maine Coons who are singularly good when at the vet's, but I know that many cats freak out, and that vets are prepared for that. Just get your cat to the vet however you can.
